I remember watching the Chagaev fight live on TV (I think it was on AWE TV in the US if anyone remembers that), it was an entertaining bout. Chagaev was past his prime and thoroughly out of shape but still had more skills than Browne. Lucas got off the deck to win that...he didn't bask in that victory long with the PED results.

Was never a fan but I wish him well in retirement.

Browne was a fun fighter. He was limited as hell but had serious power so he was either knocking you out or you was knocking him out especially the last few years lool. Not a bad career tho for a guy who turned pro at 30 years old with no amatuer experience in the sport at all beforehand just a background at regional level in MMA

I'm not a fan, but I wouldn't come on and criticise him, had he not twice tested positive. Cheating in any sport is wrong, but when you cheat in cricket or football that can't result in a man getting dead, or blind, or in a wheelchair or permanently impaired. I've got no time for boxers that take PEDs, """" em.

Browne had a pretty good career for his level, the drugs tests were not good and seemed out of character for a guy who seems like a fairly decent guy.

Still we forgive others so it's hard to hold it against Browne.

Hate to break the news to you. Any boxer who is not actively enrolled in VADA 24/7 is, has been or is considering PED use. Time to find a new sport.

I think Lucas tested positive after the WBA regular title bout with Chagaev...clenbuterol. He was ultimately cleared like Clenelo, but the title was vacated already by the WBA. The WBA ordered Browne to fight Shannon Briggs for the regular title later in the same year; this time he popped positive for ostarine before the fight. So, I guess he officially tested positive once. Interestingly, Briggs himself tested positive right after this for the WBA vacant regular title bout against Fres Oquendo. I'm not sure if the WBA recognizes Browne as a former regular titlist or not. Not a bad career for someone who had no boxing background and turned pro at 30.

The issue that I have is that many P.E.D using fighters either aren't tested or aren't caught. The problem is way more widespread than many realize. Even the Clenbuterol argument is fishy. Is it tainted meat? Or not? Who knows. Either way, I still enjoy the game.

Pretty sure you are right about AWE Really memorable HW fight from the mid 2010s lol, when Browne's team was scared to celebrate the win because they were worried about getting killed by a Chechen warlord LMAO. The look on Kadyrov'sfiance when Chagaev got splattered was priceless I'll remember Big Daddy for that fight, his shocking 1st Rd upset KO of Junior Fa and getting put to sleep as hard as anyone I've ever seen against Whyte lol
