Because he acts like an immature little prick and does not embody America's idea of a true sportsman e.g Randy Couture, Tom Brady etc.
Let's Settle This Once And For All, Why Does Mayweather Have So Many Haters?

Yeah, floyd cannot get people to love him, so he makes them hate him to sell tickets. Oscar has fans who love him, and Oscar is a fighter from the heart, he is not a little scared kitty like mayweather. May is more a buisiness man than a fighter, although he has the skills, he will never deliver the thrills.Comment

Because he is a 24ct ****.We already know Mayweather is the most skilled fighter and biggest cash cow in boxing right now and anytime a person has that kind of influence there's obviously gonna be haters trying to drag him down. We saw it with Muhammad Ali in the 60's and 70's and we're seeing the same thing happen today with Mayweather.
For the most part, it obviously comes from jealousy and envy but i'm trying to find a specific reason why they exert so much energy hating on him because it's still a mystery to me.
I narrowed it down to the 4 most likely choices but if i forgot one then state what it is in this thread.Comment

because he likes to say hes the best, yet when was the last time he has fought someone his own size or division!Comment

If you don't know by now why some people don't like Mayweather Jr., you probably won't ever know.Comment

Right, because Randy Couture really embodies America's idea of a true sportsman by being one of the biggest steroid abusers in professional sports.
If everyone had as little personality and were as politically correct as Couture and Tom Brady the world would be a boring place. America embraces outspoken and controversial celebrities so your arguement doesnt have a set of legs to stand on.Comment

By people do you mean a small section of boxing fans spread across various message boards on the internet? Because the general public loves Floyd "Money" Mayweather.Comment

I did not mean all people. Some. Especially with Arturo "Thunder" Gatti now dead, I've talked to a few that scrutinize that fight and how Floyd hit him that one time when Gatti was clearly not engaged and talking to the ref. Floyd was within his rights to hit Gatti there, but they think it wasn't honorable, and so on.
I think as far as internet message boards go, a lot of the "haters" regardless of fan base, just enjoy posting some inane **** to get a reaction. For the internet, that's nothing new.Comment
