The other one was bad, but Cotto was completely controlling the fight when it happened and Judah pulled his head down pretty much causing it.
Judah, and Clottey also hit Cotto with lowblows. Low-blows happen all the time, by accident or maybe on purpose. Who knows, were not the fighters and Freddie is not the ref. So why should he tell the ref how to do his job?

See, I don't look to hate on judah or clottey because they probably did it by accident themselves.

I'm white but this rican hate needs to stop, every boxer has thrown low-blows maybe by accident maybe on purpose. Who knows were not in the ring with them.
na let the hate continue, its like this man said...

My brother always roots against rican fighters, he is white too though he is my half-brother and has a different dad. The funny part about that is that he has a half-rican wife, and his half-rican wife is rooting for Pacman.

Cotto is a body puncher and will occasionally hit low. However, since the Judah fight Cotto has not had any kind of 'obvious' low blows. If memory serves me correctly the infamous Judah low blow came at a time when no one really had any kind of control in the fight. Cotto was more pressed by Margarito and Mosely and I don't remember any kind of momentum changing low blow there. This is obviously a ploy by Roach to try and negate the body attack by Cotto. With or without Cortez, and even with the prefight warnings I hope Cotto does continue doing his thing and folds Manny with a body shot.

Cotto barely threw any body-shots against Margarito though. And I think it has to do with ppl always trying to point fingers at him saying he purposely throws low-blows.

I was at the Cotto/Clottey fight and I called it right before it happened (pissing off a lot of Puerto Ricans around me), but when Cotto gets hurt he goes low. It's a well known fact. With that being said, he is STILL going to knock Manny out.

What the hell is everybody getting on Roach's case for about this statement? It's totally true. I've never seen Cotto low blow an opponent he had total control over. He did it to Corley, Torres, Judah, and that dirty **** he pulled with Clottey. What did all those guys have in common? They were all whipping Cotto's ass at some point in the fight. And that time that Cotto hit Clottey in the back of the head in the last round was awfully shady. The only fight that Cotto fought clean in was against Margarito, because Margarito let Cotto know he meant business by low blowing him several times and of course who can forget about Margarito hitting Cotto while he was down on one knee? Karma is a *****. In the Mosley fight I think Evangelista dumped some water in the corner to buy Cotto some time, and Benji Estevez sure gave it to him.

I've never seen Pacquiao fight dirty in the ring except for the time that he lead with his head at times when he fought Barrera the first time.

Roach: new rules, cotto has to wear 32 oz gloves, has to lose 5 more pounds, and every exchange has to let pac land at least once, or ruled a no contest.

Are you sure about that? Pac has the advantages in foot and hand speed, quickness, stamina, better corner... That was makes this a great fight. Both guys have advantages. And, that is why IMO is a 50/50 fight.

I can see Roach's concern, but you cannot change the rules just to suit him. Cotto himself has been the victim of guys coming in with their heads and slicing him up. I mean if Roach gets away with this request, Cotto could also put one in saying if Manny darts in throwing the left hand recklessly and headbutts him causing a cut, should Manny be disqualified? The whole idea is preposterous.

Boxing is a brutal sport. Everyone involved knows the risks. The referee determines then what action to take from their existing playbook. The same rules apply to Manny and Cotto. You cannot have tailored rules or conditions for a particular fighter. Once the bell rings, everything is to be considered equal. Manny is awesome, but Roach is really starting to annoy me. Cotto is already facing a handicap with the weight. Just let the guys fight.
