Of the top 10 trainers (based on world champions trained) in last 50 years and many of them never boxed or left boxing early. So the ‘boxercise’ is just bit of petty hate.

I believe Ben Davison will go on to be one of best trainers in the world. As much as people want to deny him his credit there is a pattern emerging of taking fighters written off as damaged good and reviving. Its as if Fury and AJ comebacks are not enough leave aside all other fighters he has helped.

He had amateur boxing background already along with semi pro football and takes more analytical approach. Seems most commentators haven’t looked at his background.

Very true. I rank Ben a lot higher than Itauma who I don't understand why is getting the hype he has online.

I know quite a lot of coaches at different levels of the sport and barely any of them rate him.

If there is any magic to “new school” Ben Davison it comes from Lee Wiley analyzing fight film of old school fighters.

So it’s kind of hilarious to hear people praising Davison while in the same sentence putting down the old school that is actually responsible for his recent success.

It’s seemingly just blind patriotic morons like Sid-Knee too.

THIS GUY IS THE BOMB!!!!! If he has a little luck, a lot of pluck and learns the ropes, this guy is gooooood!!!! I used to like him and Wardley but Wardley has become just another sluggish heavyweight who gases and fell in love with his power... I hope this kid goes in a different direction.

Ben Davis is a rarity: He is a young guy who is a trainer. He has talent, he will improve as he works with talented kids like Moses Itauma. I like the partnership.

Last week Garcia got a big win with Derrick James , not long before that the entire forum was saying how he was exposed bc of the Spence fight .

You know who understands boxing and who dont regarding trainers bc they ask questions like did they ever box etc etc ……..you don’t need to be a boxer otherwise youd have a very limited amount . Yes it helps but the most important thing is actual just having a natural eye for it ,picking up things , and awareness on how to take someone’s style and improve on it . Ben is good bc he has an actual team who studies fights and they compare ideas on the best way ,you can’t beat that and very few are to egotistical to do it and their fighter suffers even if they get a win ,don’t hire trainers to lazy nit to actually study footage unless you dint care about getting prepared the best you could.

Ask anyone on here if Bens doing boxercise with Joshua ? I bet anything 99% on here would quit within 5 minutes feeling shots from Joshua holding those little pads we see ,most on here don’t haven’t even held pads let alone hit them and their the ones probably acting like they know what makes a good trainer .Lol

And how many of them have enjoyed as much success? Totally, I grew up thinking a coach has to have a broken nose & cauliflower ears & be able to tell you how he went 15 rounds with Kid Goldblum for the Southern Area L/W title & that was when Area titles meant something. Yes, Ben Davison hasn't boxed, yes, he came up through Boxercise, yes, that is quite camp, frankly. You can only go by results & Ben Davison's results are excellent. He turned Leigh Wood from an unsuccessful stylist to a counterpuncher who was world champion. He may come across as a bit of a schmuck, but, hey, aren't we all?

I think Ben is underrated, he's new school in his approach which rubs some people up the wrong way, but what I like is he takes fighters attributes into account and works everything around maximjsibg their existing strengths.

So many old school UK trainers like the Ingles and Joe Gallagher etc all try and paste their same style onto every fighter that walks into their gym.

If Davidson actually completes this repair job he's having to do with AJ it's time to start calling him the best trainer in the UK because all these glamorous foreign coaches weren't able to do it.

It has nothing to do with being patriotic. You just don't have anything to say when it comes to breaking down what he supposedly does wrong. You just come out with the childish "Boxercise Ben" shlt.

If you want me to criticize a British trainer as i either don't rate them or they're not the right fit for the fighter, i'm happy to. Rob McCracken hasn't progressed with Yafai as his defence is a serious problem. I think Yafai should go elsewhere to fix what clearly needs serious attention. Then you have a genuine PE teacher in Tunde Ajayi who is laughable when it comes to training at the top level in pro boxing. His lack of doing sparring and doing runs is clear to see with Anthony Yarde. Yarde has natural ability that if honed properly, could have seen him become champ by now. But it's way too late in the day to change him as he stayed put because he was comfortable with the arrangement.

You may now get back to your riveting use of the name "Boxercise Ben" every time his name is mentioned on here. It's both fascinating as well as challenging to read your intelligent take on all things boxing.

Amen brother! Joshua was practicing turning his shots over. You could see him emphasizing the last point before impact really turning over. Great exercise... Just a great thing to practice to get good habits and hitting hard and hitting properly.

It struck me that whereas when I was growing up, if you saw a group of black kids in rural Louisiana versus New York City they would look very different! These kids look like they just came out of Chicago lol..

Yup, what happened is Hip-hop took over the world. 'Walk this way' was the seminal moment. Everyone said it saved the career of Aerosmith & did nothing for the career of Run DMC who were already flying. True, but it turned America, & the world, onto rap & it paved the way for Dr Dre, Snoop, Eminem everything. Now, if you go to a really rural part of Britain, all the white farm boys dress like, talk like, & wish they were Kanye. Strange that.
