Didn't Teo not want to travel to Australia when Triller requested it? I don't remember all the details. Triller gave up, and then Teo had to fight on a MR show. Teo loses and then proceeds to talk shxt about the MR/DAZN....when it was his greed that landed him in the situation. He valued the purse size over every other factor. I think TR is tolerating Teofimo out of necessity, similar to GBP and Garcia. Arum is notorious for staying within a strict budget, whereas Hearn didn't mind throwing around some extra money. In the end, Teo had something negative to say about both parties.
Idr all the drama with that situation, but there was a few different drama situations that much I recall lol. You easily can argue between the postponements & the ultimate L that it was a net negative outcome money-wise & clearly career-wise for Teo, but all you can do is attempt to make the best moves. You can't predict the future & all the ways things could go sideways.

As a ex-pro poker player back in the day I learned to stop being results oriented with incomplete information in live situations. The worst poker hand in texas holden beats the best hand all in preflop 12% of the time or some sh^t like that, but it'd be an awful play to fold AA preflop cuz you're scared of losing 12% or more of the time. Theres always risks & honestly in a sport where you could die or be severely injured on any given night ******** on the money side is childs play.

Arum being tight with the purse strings is exactly why Teo should've made that move. TR is great at getting guys to a belt but once they get them there they are horrible at making big things happen. They've gotten a lil better but the fact a cat like Beterbiev is just now at 39 fighting his only real competition at 175 for all the belts & it still isn't because of anything TR did says everything a boxer needs to know about their future at TR once they get that belt.

I was in Teo's corner right up until his post-fight presser vs. Kambosos where he sounded immature and delusional. I know fighters aren't thinking clearly right after a fight, but he doubled-down after the event. It was a net-positive in terms of his bank account, but a net-negative in every other way. Ironically, the Kambosos fight is still one of his biggest purses ever.

TR has been relying on their relationships with other promoters recently. They're "co-promoting" more and more. Working together isn't a bad thing, but it may be a sign of something else.

But the whack-job factor in the run-up to a Teo-Ryan fight would be spectacularly cringe.

I think you gotta be a lil delusional to believe you can be #1 at something on a planet with 8 billion ppl so I never fault guys too much for words, but I get your take on it & more ppl line up with you than I with that obviously.

Outside of the Saudi stuff they still aren't doing great getting their best guys the biggest fights.

He has the best resume out of that original fab 4 LWs. His wins over Loma and Taylor are very impressive especially considering he was only 22 when he whooped Loma then moved up to face the linea champ at 140 in Taylor. His problem is his inconsistency.

So what? He defeated a naturally smaller Eastern Euro fighter that nobody knew but hardcore boxing fans. He thought that win would somehow translate and catapult him into becoming this huge mainstream crossover star. He was wrong!

u could make an argument that loma won 5 rounds v teo

ive seen fighters who u might think have won only 5 rounds max get awarded the win or a draw even

but only if u are an A-side fighter of course

if u are not u get an 11 - 1 card against u im thinking

imagine some A-side guy getting those cards, i cant

if u do imagine it, u have to throw out the theory of A-siders getting the benefit of cards altogether possibly, which we know is not true of course plus loma didnt get the benefit of the cards v haney either and lost a UD, nothing else needs to be said really i dont think

when loma questioned the cards after the teo fight arum went off on one telling loma that he was crazy and that julie lederman is a very good judge lol

I feel like I've heard Teo say hes a free agent after his next fight for his last 2 or 3 fights lol. Everything with Teo seems foggy & deals don't get discussed as openly as they did back in the day so never can be sure when something is about to end. Only really know when something got renewed or already ended.
think he resigned when he moved up to 140

The problem is also many thought both he and Taylor got gift wins in a TR setup because they had the bigger names than Catterall and Martin.

Took a lot of luster off that fight.
