Ennis can take a couple years to unify and/or wait for the names at 140 to move up, or he can use his status as a belt holder to request a mandatory shot at 154 and really become a factor.

That particular benefit only exists for the WBO super champion. Boots is IBF, having turned down the WBO when Bud was champ before the Spence fight. He does not have any ability to get a mandatory shot at 154 short of vacating his email belt and moving up and fighting contenders for it.

We don't know the exact reason why Crowley/Ennis didn't happen, or why it didn't go to purse-bid. We also don't know if PBC bothered to put up a bid on Crowley's behalf for this WBC purse bid. We do know that Crowley is trying to swerve Ennis (IBF) by going down the WBC route. However, is Crowley going to fight Cissokho for $214k?

At least MR has a working relationship with Team Cissokho. He's a possible opponent down the line.
