  • Anthony Joshua vs Jon Jones in a bareknuckle Street Fight?

What if AJ walks into Jon Jones in a Dark Alley? Could Big Femi lay out Jones like he laid out Ngannou? Or would Jones's MMA skills prevail?

Between those 2 heavyweights who really is the baddest dude on the planet?

He has the power to do it, but one will be cautious about delivering boxing punches without a glove. Also, a bare fist is harder to land the way the big and soft glove does. Since it's a street fight anything could happen, like Jones submitting him or breaking his leg with an oblique kick.

Jon will take him to the ground and then it's all over.

Feel like people are going to underestimate the boxer because his profession has limited set of tools.

Like I favor the MMA fighter the same size most of the time, because they are Jack of all trades, but people have to consider boxing has a solid foundation used by top athletes, it's even used in mixed martial arts (UFC) by fighters like Holloway, Volk, Tuporia, Porier and etc by implementing what works and doesn't work without the gloves to block and parry. Then cover the weaknesses by training in other martial arts that sorround wrestling and kicking, which professional boxers as top athletes can do to a degree outside the ring, some had learned like Ryan Garcia, Crawford and Lomachenko.

Just to add some notes, Alex Pereira has no major background in wrestling and started quite late in MMA, mostly kick boxing as his base, in his first bout he got chocked out, then during 7 fights in UFC he became a 2 division champion beating defined fighters like Strickland, Adesanya, Blachowicz, and Prochazka.

Demetrius Johnson had a mixed rule fight between MMA and Muay Thai against Rodtang, The ruleset alternated between Muay Thai and MMA in four three-minute rounds. Mighty Mouse was getting overwhelmed until he could grapple, and subdued his opponent.

Kickboxing and Muay Thai are both different from Professional boxing, but my point is MMA fighters are better well rounded, but they aren't specialists, they aren't going to out wrestle a full time wrestler/grappler in something like BBJ or actual wrestling, nor are they going to out strike a boxing/kickboxing champion.

Obviously I favor Jones to win, but it wouldn't be an easy task to fight a physically bigger athletic opponent that can strike and has better attrition. If Jones gets close and grapples, AJ can't exactly do much against someone much more experienced in grappling.

Fury's clinch is different than AJ's, his intention is just to lean his weight on you.
When Fury clinched, Ngannou was moving him at will and throwing him all over the place.
AJ does clinch/wrestle training, there is footage of it.
The few times AJ clinched, Ngannou didn't ONCE try to move or control him. He felt the strength of him.
          I'll leave it at that...

Jones because of the wrestling **** but there's a fair chance AJ chins him if he throws first.

Reality is you will NEVER see a street fight like this because these are elite athletes not chumps.

BTW I don't consider Jones the "baddest man on the planet" as far as MMA goes, he has one win at heavyweight over a bum then vanished.

It's like Roy Jones over John Ruiz but Jones myth is out of control so everyone assumes he's totally unbeatable at heavyweight based off that.

AJ would have a decent chance to land a big shot early, but the most likely scenario is Jones just gets hold of him and chokes him out quick. It'd probably look like Jones/Gane.
