Even considering the blood in his eyes, there were things that Tszyu could have done to still get a win, but he didn't adapt at all. He kept trying the same basic strategy he started with and it proved to be his undoing against a version of Fundora who finally fought to his strengths. Tszyu, for all his heart, fought pretty stupidly for the entire fight. He stayed straight on the line trying to land the same pull counter straight and overhand rights to the head all night long instead of moving his head/waist, attacking from angles, and targeting a huge body just waiting to be hit. He lost fair and square, and I'm not sure that the result would have been different without the cut. Based on what I saw, the Keith Thurman who beat Mario Barrios two years ago would have schooled Tszyu last night.
Yes , based on two excellent rounds by Tszyu , he totally negated Fundoras jab and was tagging him. How can you really expect Tim to change his strategy do this , that , and the other when he CAN'T ****ING SEE and he's getting hit by a freak with a nine inch height and reach advantage ? If his corner was smart he would have admitted that he couldn't see and stopped the fight before the end of the fourth , or at the end of the fourth and took a chance on the cards. I haven't seen a cut like that since Badou Jack. The worst that could have happened would have been a draw after the fourth. I don't believe that Fundora beats a Tszyu that can see. Apparently you do. We will see if there's a rematch. Fundora almost lost to Tim who couldn't see with either eye , I don't see his fortunes improving when the guy is whole.
At least Rolly got beat up , so I slept well.

Why are people going crazy making excuses for Tszyu? Yeah, he got a cut and it affected his performance. That happens, quite regularly, in combat sports. Wasn't that long that Beterbiev got a bad cut vs Marcus Browne. Go rewatch that one to remind yourself how the champion defends his title when he gets a potentially fight altering cut. People are acting like this never happens. If that was Usyk or Bud, people would be crapping all over him. Are we going to make excuses for Fury if Usyk reopens his cut? It's combat sports.

I also remember when Donaire broke Inoue's orbital in Rd 2, and he fought on for 10 rounds to win, and people make fun of him for that. Yet here we are pretending Fundora didn't do anything right, and doesn't deserve to win. The only thing I can say for boxing fans is that at least they're not UFC fans.

I reckon Tszyu is a proper warrior but needs to have a good look at the people around him.

Obviously there were big rewards for winning that fight but taking on such a different fighter than the one he prepared for wasn't smart. Shades of Joshua maybe - not wanting to miss the big US event.

Then the corner must have believed he could still win half blind and rolled the dice.

Would have been smarter for that fight not to have happened, and to have pulled him out with the cut. His team are supposed to have his interests at heart.

People are saying that Tszyu would have won if not for the cut, but he was nailing Fundora all night with great shots. I think Fundora adjusted to the power and started fighting a smarter fight from the outside, and that made more difference than the blood. Not to mention that Tszyu did that to himself running in with his head anyway, so if the cut is the reason he lost, he has to blame himself.

Wow Tszyu lost to a guy who had 2 weeks notice?

Apparently though Tszyu got to the arena early and was tired. That's why he lost. Understandable.

no that excuse has already been used

I just hope Tim hasn`t got too much punishement. I know casuals like bloody wars, but these kind of fights take years from the fighter.

I guess you have Never been in a fight in which you could not see a thing.

                    • Fundora needs to learn how to stiffen his jab like a Tommy Hearns sort of. He does too much flicking and pawing for a guy his length. When he learns how to stiffen his Jab, he will be difficult to beat.
