I’ll be cheering for Claggett being a Canadian. He is a tough dude & had a good 2023 going 4-0 picking up the NABF & WBO International title. Lopez is a massive step up & this is by far the biggest opportunity he will ever get. I give him about a 1% chance of pulling off the upset. He has nothing to lose. I would assume he will be cancelling his April 4 fight with Mike Ohan. I think a few other Canadians will be happy to see one of ours get this opportunity. He is not an import european fighting out of Canada. He was born in Calgary 3 hours from my city. Yeah it is not the best opponent for Lopez. A mismatch on paper…

I'm from Hamilton and I'm going to be honest, I have never heard of Steve...I know most of the Cdn guys of all levels (eg. Rolls, Butler, the Eastern European ones out of Montreal).

It doesn't figure to be a long night for Teo, but he sometimes fights at the level of the opposition, so you never know.

It doesn't figure to be a long night for Teo, but he sometimes fights at the level of the opposition, so you never know.

How have you never heard of Claggett if you follow Canadian Boxing? He has had a real tough time breaking into the top, but he's probably the best born and raised canadian pro we have. I would maybe consider Crowley, but he only fights once a year, if that. Rozicki is coming along, but he needs to get tougher/bigger fights.

saw him underneath mbili vs gongora at the casino in montreal, maybe its on you tube? check it out he had a great fight that night, anomgst many. Claggetts fights are never "tactical"

Think Teo really must have had his confidence hit by that Ortiz fight. Because if he really wanted to prove he's the best and he wants a guy who doesn't run, why isn't he fighting Subriel Matias?

I hope he can get himself straight, because if he can improve his consistency, he'll be good for the division. I suspect "the Takeover" is going to go out with a whimper though. Mental issues, like Garcia. Maybe after Garcia loses to Haney, he can fight Teo, and the WBC can make a commemorative "Mental Health" belt. Can be presented to the winner by Tyson Fury and Jermall Charlo.

I hate it when champions fight guys I've never heard of. How does a fight like this make money? I guess Teo has to be matched very carefully.

With the 140 pound division as deep and loaded as it is, there is no excuse for the champion to be fighting a guy of this mediocre caliber.
