TBF, he does have to beat Nery, as well as hopefully Goodman and MJ. Goodman I think is going to be another one of those guys who looks better on the resume after. Inoue has flattened a few guys who went on to win world titles and look quite good after losing to him. He's also retired some great fighters.
From what I understand, after Nery the plan is Goodman in Japan and MJ in Saudi. Which would basically be cleaning out 122 since Cassimero can't do chit. If he wins those 3 fights, he's literally beaten 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 at 122. I don't understand how anyone can hate on that track record.

And yeah, the Rodriguez and Maloney wins aged REALLY well.

The version I heard was after Nery, it was MJ in Saudi followed by Goodman in Japan or Australia (if Australia manages to make an offer enticing enough, and Inoue actually doesn't mind going elsewhere if it is going to be a good card). Frankly I'd be up to seeing him fight in Australia because the timezone would be great for Japan too, not to mention at this point I won't be surprised if Australia would have a better crowd and venue and atmosphere than doing it in America, and if it will be fall time in Australia that might actually also be a good timing for a potential super card involving multiple title matches.
I mean, a potential co-main card featuring Inoue vs Goodman plus Tszyu vs Crawford can be awesome, and as long as elder-Moloney doesn't lose to Yoshiki Takei in May his homecoming defense can be there as well

By the way extremely minor detail but are you ever going to update your signature's records?

Hahaha I do need to update a few of those....or all of them lol

and yeah, Aussieland is turning into a really good boxing spot right now. Do you know what the timezone difference is? I'm fairly sure both Australia and Japan both fight for the WBO Pacific region belt.

And yeah, I don't see Inoue ever fighting in America. Just no money in it for him. Regardless of how many people want to say that fighting in Japan is shady lol

Timezone wise Tokyo and Sydney/Melbourne are two hours apart, while Perth (where they got Loma-Kambosos scheduled) is one hour apart.

A Sunday afternoon match will work very well for both Australia and Japan.

It's forgotten now, but Ricky Hatton did this with Junior Witter. We kept hearing all these reasons why the fight couldn't happen yet and then he'd fight a lesser opponent with less of a fanbase and status. They knew Witter was a difficult stylistic matchup for Hatton.

Also Ryoichi Taguchi, who went on to win the WBA light fly title 3 fights later, and went on to defend it 8 times, as well as unifying and becoming the Ring champ. Retired now, but that was Inoue's 4th win before either fought for a world title.

I was gonna mention Taguchi and Narvaez but I tend to forget that a lot of guys on here fellow the J Scene more than they did 5 years ago.

Last time I mentioned those two names I got "Taguchi has 4L's and Narvaez was a bum" Which is why I stopped naming his opponents below 118 when ppl say "WHos he fought?!?"

Calling Narvaez a bum is such a ****** take. He's got a better claim to being HOF worthy than many of the guys they've been letting in lately. And Taguchi had 1 loss when he fought Inoue, second came to Inoue, and the last two retired him. Lots of ATG's have losses at the end of their careers. Muhammad Ali, for instance. Sugar Ray Robinson had 19 in his career. I think we'll see a shift as boxing becomes less popular in the West, especially since so many of the Western fighters are inactive and cherry picking and "marinating" fights, while Japan is seeing a big revitalization of their boxing scene.

Oh you don't have to tell me. I constantly tell people "In Japan, if you're not ready to fight for a world title by your tenth fight, the thought is you'll never be ready"

Over here, we have people making excuses for not fighting anyone in 30 fights.

Narvaez became HOF eligible just this year I believe. I expect him to make it
