GBP stays active having fights in small venues during the week. Theres a lot of boxing venues in Southern California for GBP to take advatage of.

I think the biggest criticism people should have of Oscar (as a promoter) is he fattens his cash cows up to extremes. I guess for Munguia its paying off with a Canelo payday. For Zurdo getting too many soft touches didnt get him any better, just heavier.

I think it’s time we all stopped declaring promotions dead.

I hope GBP come good, but, hard to say they are the best.

How many World Champions do they have?

1 male (minimum weight if that counts) and 3 female.

Top Rank have 9 male, 1 female

        Matchroom 9 male, 7 female

        PBC have at least 3.

        Boxxer have 1 of each.

        Even Queenbury has 1.

Still a long way for Golden Boy to go.

Could argue top 4, maybe the boxers you say come good and they can be considered towards the top 3 in a year or two.

I feel like all promotions go through crests and troughs. TR was riding high with Manny at the helm then went into a lull period after he left. GBP was high with Canelo, then went into a rebuilding period and now is climbing back up. I think it's the same with all promotions, you have highs and lows.

In fairness, Zurdo was 41-0 when he signed to Golden Boy. They gave him 3 fights and then let him fight Bivol. I'd say to blame Bob, but hell Zurdo was 25-0 in his first fight with Top Rank, and got to fight for the 168 belt 8 fights later, so the majority of his manufactured record was before he came to the US.

That said, Oscar has protected the absolute *** out of Munguia lmao. Hell he protected Canelo
