  • What happen to GBP is "finished" lol

GBP is arguably the best promotion in boxing today and with guys like Ortiz, zepeda, Schofield and Munguia getting ready to face canelo they have a nice future ahead of them.

Now let's hear the "but but buts" lol

Not really I just get a kick out of guys bashing certain promoters because of an agenda that goes beyond the sport.

Gbp has been bashed here left and right and not because of actual promotion because truth be told GBP is a better promotion company than TR, PBC and Hearn but because they just Hate Oscar plain n simple.

GBP are the worst promoters in the sport, and Oscar is arguably the ******est person to ever have a say in the running of a major boxing company. A good promoter has to roll the dice on a guy sometimes, and play it safe other times. GBP often seem like they have the worst decision making.

All of their fighters follow the same pattern: they look great as prospects, but then they hover around contender level for far too long, because GBP lack the balls to risk them in a real danger fight, and the intelligence to pick the right path for them.

Munguia: avoided the other champs at 154, ducked Hogan rematch, moved to 160 in order to fight hand-picked opponents and avoid all of the champions, moved to 168 to fight fringe-contenders waiting for a cash-out fight.

Ryan Garcia: should've fought Haney at 135 but ducked. Now fighting him at 140 where Haney looks a lot better. Looks like a cash-out fight.

Ortiz: looked like a monster at 140. Some promoters would've aimed for a belt there. Instead here we are years later and 2 divisions higher, and Ortiz still hasn't fought for a belt. His youth and physicality would've been more useful against smaller guys so again not smart. 154 is wide open and Ortiz is very talented, so right now is a perfect time for him to take a serious fight with the belts becoming available. But he's facing embarrassingly overmatched opposition like Lawson instead.

Zepeda: Already had the chance to fight for a world title and turned it down. Didn't want the Shakur fight in the past, won't take it now. Next fight will be another Maxi Hughes type.

Do you not see the pattern here? If past form is a guide, expect Zepeda to avoid real challenges for a long time and then randomly take a fight he has no chance of winning because GBP have no idea how to guide a fighter and so it's often just tune-up after tune-up until they cash guys out.

Boxing fans are too dramatic & extreme. Everyone after a W is the baddest mfer, still not sh^t or a complete bum not the #4 best guy at the weight or a promising prospect who had a great night or subpar night. Same with promoters or platforms or whatever else. Great or going out of business. Sh^t is crazy town.

It's because people have been conditioned to identify with the consumer objects they buy. I've seen people behaving tribalistically over their preferred mass produced smartphone.
