The only people getting carried away are emotional/young fans who get overly excited by knockouts. He lost two comprehensive decisions to Usyk and has since beaten two journeymen, a fringe contender and an 0-2 novice. It's no indication that he would beat Fury or win a third contest against Usyk.

I think there's a key difference between Fury and Joshua: Fury is inconsistent with his lifestyle and training habits, while Joshua appears to be dedicated to staying in shape and bringing his best to his fights. This has to ultimately make a difference in the ring. Walking around at nearly 300lbs and having to spend most of his training camp just to lose weight, must be detrimental to Tyson's true readiness for a tough fight. Aj's biggest obstacle seems to be his confidence, which he appears to have regained. My prediction: AJ works Fury and gives him hell.

I still don't think AJ's position in boxing changes 1 bit from what he did here.

This was a money grab fight which worked out incredible for AJ. Not only how easy he made it look, he did what he was supposed to. He at least respect Ngannou in that he took the fight seriously (unlike Mr. Fury) and showed immediately the difference between someone that shows up (and has power) vs someone who thought he would automatically beat Ngannou because of his own level in the sport (without needing to train for it).

As far as where it puts Joshua in boxing terms, why should this fight matter? He just beat a guy whose had 2 professional fights, 2 professional losses now.

It doesn't change anything from a rankings standpoint. But from a marketing and training standpoint, it does AJ a world of good. It was another training camp with his new training staff, and his stock has increased with both the casual and hardcore audiences. He's perceived as the guy who restored balance after the Gypsy Clown Prince created chaos by fighting Ngannou in the first place.

Don't even ask him what is AJ's biggest victory (because it's 41-year-old Wlad in a life-and-death fight).

Considering AJ's losses and "great" comeback, as well as Fury's ups and downs, it's hard to tell who beats who. Properly training motivated Fury, I think, beats AJ.

He never will. Dude can't throw a right hand without holding on to the opponent like a senior citizen. I think the mental switch for Fury to a real fight was too much against such a dangerous opponent while it was happening.

You're right.

Fury's always been better than AJ, but the AJ stans that went into hiding after Ruiz & 2 loses to Usyk are back to pester us again thanks to a few wins over journeymen & an MMA fighters, while Fury & Wilder have gotten old & decline.

If Tyson is anywhere near where he was when he fought Whyte just a few years ago, he easily beats AJ.
