  • In his last two fights, AJ completely demolished Wallin and Ngannou, two fighters who gave Tyson Fury all he could handle.

Rewatch that 12th round between Fury and Wallin. Fury hung on for dear life and got beaten up from pillar to post.

it was a good reality check for francis to let him know that the fury he fought was not in top shape and although he felt that he won that fight, it was due to fury barely taking the fight serious... as soon as he steps up to a boxer that took the fight serious, he got knocked out in 2 rounds... so boxing is not as easy as franic thought it would be.
      I agree with you!

Ngannou always strikes me as very likable. I actually felt bad for him in the weeks leading up, as he walked towards a level of fighting that he had no concept of.
It was as if the clowning Fury had set a trap for him.

But Then, he started his tough guy talk to Tyson Fury's face.
“Respect the fact the rules of boxing are protecting your ass. Without that you are nothing in front of me. I beat you every day, and twice on Sunday.”

Ngannou seemed to have stolen the words from the mouth of x2 time UFC champion Tim Sylvia right before Ray Mercer put HIM to sleep the last time that we had a valid Boxing vs. MMA test.

That made me a little mad at Ngannou, and I was ready to see him smashed into little bits of overreaching ego.

Tell me how some girl kicking and batty-boy ground grappling distinguishes a boxing match from a "Real fight"?
The trailer park Millennials might buy that crap, but I don't.

Aside from that, watch every MMA Match Ngannou's ever had start to finish. How much of what Francis was EXCEPTIONALLY good at in MMA was he NOT allowed to bring into his boxing fight against Joshua?
      A: Virtually NOTHING.

MMA is loaded with better Kickboxing and Grappling fighters than Ngannou. But he smashed em' all with his standup hand striking. Left no stone unturned there, except maybe for the stone Jon Jones was hiding under.

Kicks, sweeps, shoots, chokes, joint hyperextentions, G & P are all techniques that work; but so do bites, eye gouges, groin strikes, fishhooks, headbutts...and weapons.

Careful how you use the term "Real".

All type fighters are basically cut from the same cloth. They simply decide what they are worth, and train for the rules that apply.

In the "real" world; we have a clean Boxing fight that those who feel they can do it will gravitate to, as Ngannou eventually did.

And we have a "dirty" fight, where their are no rules and you get shot in the face for talking like Ngannou talked.

Clean, like Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, Rome, Britain and the U.S. have defined it.

And Dirty, like what happens on the street.

      Just two kinds.

The "In between" stuff like what the UFC is selling, is no more "Real" than Boxing is, and according to the UFC champion, is strictly a stepping stone for greater heights in Boxing.

      But be careful!
The Boxing that makes you the G.O.A.T. in the low pay sport won't save your ass against the boxer in the major leagues.

      As we have clearly witnessed.

          ...
I had no problem with Ngannou straightening out Fury during the pre-fight conference. These two guys made that conference entertainnig by jawing back and forth. Besides, Ngannou didn't say anything that wasn't demonstrably true. On the street or in any other fight not constrained by boxing rules, he would without a doubt permanently injure and possibly kill Tyson Fury. Ngannou reasonably argued that he should have won their fight, and Fury retorted by hilariously warning Francis from the stands that he was going to give him "another" hiding. Fury is so completely devoid of integrity and talks so much **** that he cannot even recognize the absuridty of his own words.

Well, that's only because he wasn't born from his mother.

Out of all the crossover fights so far that was the one where the levels were most obvious. AJs reflexes, how sharp his shots were, how quickly he made Ngannou pay for mistakes etc. I'm hoping probably in vain that with the way it played out it at least puts an end to any crossovers at THAT level happening anymore, but we'll get ****ing Ngannou/Wilder in May or something.....
I actually still want to see Wilder-Ngannou. I think Francis comes back and beats him. Wilder is shot, but the build-up to this fight will be plenty entertaining. Wilder probably needs another win over Ortiz to get some cred back first though.

                • I'd said before Joshua - Ngannou that many people on this site would learn a great deal from it.

Fury defends his world title against belt holder Usyk very soon, and again; we're all poised to learn a lot from that too.

Fairly sure that John Fury shat him out.

Ngannou would be as quickly crushed by Wilder....or Ortiz, as he was by Joshua.

                      Have you learned nothing?
