Dunno how anyone could root against Ngannou in this. Very likeable guy coming along fighting the supposed biggest dogs in the yard under rules that favour them, and he actually has a chance at winning too. Hope he knocks AJ the **** out and continues making history.

Should not get a pass for this and pretend the first fight didn't happen.
Getting a third fight with usyk is also laughable.
Tyson fury stomped wilder into dust twice and robbed the first time away from home in the US.
The match up has a story and a theme between both fighters 'Those are the type of match ups, outside of title fights boxing fans want to see'.
Joshua did beat Ruiz Junior in dominant fashion 'Effectively winning every single round, avenging his first loss'.
But the dynamic of the match up between both fighters 'Is the type of fight, which would require a third fight in my opinion'.
Bowe vs Hoyfield, Frazier vs Ali, Norton vs Ali, Wilder vs Fury 'Ruiz Junior vs Joshua, is a similar type of match up.'.
Note: Joshua was competitive in the first Ruiz Junior fight, people like to pass over the fact 'That even after Joshua was decked? He fought his way back into the fight, before eventually being stopped on his feet with a smile on his face'. The fight was a catastrophic loss, but over the years the ramifications of the loss have been dramatized.
It appears Joshua out of the two fighters, inflicted the most damage 'Ruiz Junior has achieved nothing much since fighting Joshua'.
Where as Joshua, many years later is still a World to Elite level Heavyweight 'And a considerably more proven Heavyweight fighter. There is no speculation of Joshua's level the sport, anybody who understand Boxing? Would have to acknowledge that he has been a proven World to Elite level Heavyweight during is career.
Anthony Joshua is the most experienced and proven active Heavyweight at fighting World to Elite Level Heavyweights 'That is what the statistics of his resume objective displays'.
Before Whyte vs Joshua was annonce, or in the works 'I called for Ruiz Junior vs Joshua III'.
And as a fighter, I thought that Joshua intrinsically would of acquired a lot from winning a fight vs Andy Ruiz Junior 'In America'.
Of course since then? The landscape in Heavyweight Boxing has altered, and sometimes 'Fighters just have to react to this, that is what Joshua and his team have done'.
Anthony Joshua still in the competition 'To see who will be the last man standing from this era, somehow and someway he has found a way to keep himself just about in the competition. Ultimately that is his primary goal' etc.

1) Ruiz refused to fight in the UK. He refused to honour the contract until the Saudis paid him extra. Ruiz is a peice of sh** for all his pbc antics after he won the first fight.
2) after winning, he was ungrateful and trashed eddie hearn repeatedly. Eddie gave ruiz a shot. He then made out 'you needed me to promote joshua in the US'.
nonsense, ruiz was an unknown at that time. Eddie could have given the shot to Hunter, but AJ respected Ruiz more. In a 2013 documentary, Joshua was the one who mentioned Ruiz amongst the 'danger men' in the HW scene. When he mentioned Ruiz, his cousin shouted out 'danger man'. they obv recognised ruiz's skillset and difficulty for AJ dealing with that kind of fighter, just look at the olympic final against the fat shorter italian who mauled joshua with speed and stamina.
3) Let's all be honest, a hungry, game version of Ruiz would absolutely annhilate Wilder better than he did AJ..and wilder knows it. i doubt they ever fight.

Enough with this hyper patriotic America first nonsense. Nobody is calling for AJ vs Ruiz. Ruiz is out of the picture currently. He's not a legitimate contender anymore due to his lack of activity. Get back to me when he's active again. Otherwise your entire argument is erroneous.Damn Wicked likes this.

No, your placement depends on your resume and performance. Based on what we've seen, Ruiz might as well just have gotten lucky. He didn't have the temperament to keep the belt and got schooled in the rematch, then got knocked down by Chris Arreola, and barely squeezed by 42 year old Ortiz who had already lost by KO to Wilder twice. Then he priced himself out of every fight he was offered, and hasn't been the ring in a year and a half with nothing scheduled. Does that honestly sound like a guy who is top 3 and deserves to be above Zhang, Hrgovic, Parker, or Dubois and Kabayel who have been in the ring getting good wins. He's going to be remembered as a one hit wonder who faded into obscurity.

Who do you pick right now to beat AJ in his current form?
