Can’t deny after 2021 it seemed like UFC popularity went stale and ever since Mcgregor stopped fighting UFC popularity steadily decreased and boxing popularity increased with the Entertainers fighting on YouTube and with the welterweight division with Gervonta Davis & Ryan and Haney. Jon Jones helped its popularity increase a little but not enough to overtake boxing. Correct me if im wrong and please show rating numbers

I haven't given up my cable TV. There's not a week go by when replays of MMA bouts are shown even on day time on mainstream TV. There are also sports shows dedicated to it. I don't see any boxing fights being replayed, or any show. There was one when Fox Sports boxing was still around. So there.... and I prefer boxing.

Most of the people that watch fights on the base prefer UFC or the Muay Thai fights on ONE. Haven't found much of anyone who wants to watch boxing, even when I've bought a PPV and have a 120" screen to watch it on.WillieWild114 likes this.

Depends on what you measure it on.
If you counted per capita gate per show (not counting ufc apex shows since its a private venue & only has 1k-ish capacity) for a full year between the UFC & TR/PBC/Matchroom US televised show gates I'd assume the UFC would have better numbers. I'd expect the biggest shows to to TR/PBC/Matchroom shows tho.
So on its best days I'd expect boxing to be bigger, but I'd expect the UFC to be bigger consistentcy-wise.

Yes, MMA is far more popular with trailer trash and the true absoloute casuals.
Casuals don't care about current boxing in the US, only the glory days of iron Mike.

It’s not so dont kid yourselves. Boxing has been dead forever now and it’ll continue to be in the gutter cuz the politics ruin the sport.
Boxing sucks compared to what it was years ago so I find myself losing interest. Passion is no longer there, it’s just not the same.

It’s not even close, the UFC is much more popular
Average American man ages 16 - 50 know very little about boxing, and a lot about MMA
Hell I went to Mexico a little while ago and outside of Canelo most Mexican men I talked about fighting were into the UFC
And the UFC gym in Mexico City is super expensive and always full, but most of the boxing gyms around Centro are cheap and empty
Every country I go to I go on a tour of the gyms and work outLast edited by 2fast2strong; 03-04-2024, 09:14 PM.
