I agree Berlanga, still needs 2-3 more impressive wins against higher rated fighters than McCrory.
Whom he really toppled like the leaning Tower of Pisa, before he went crashing down.
I'd like to see him take on Morrell, Mbilli, Plant, or Pacheco, for that matter, and he'd get more respect from the boxing fan's.
Berlanga had the audacity to say "who is Morrell", Morrell is a champion at 168 pounds, as if you didn't know that already.
He also might be the most lethal one of the bunch to your undefeated record, he's calling you out, accept his challenge, if you really believe your the "Chosen One"!

It's kinda crazy that he's not a draw. Not like he's a Shakur Stevenson or Jamaine Ortiz. He's got a very fan friendly style. I think his promoter must be absolute trash.

While Benavidez has been ready, willing, and able (and the most worthy) to fight Canelo, Alvarez instead has chosen: old-worn-out-1st-time-at-168-there-for-a-paycheck-now-unofficially-retired GGG, old-worn-out-never-really-beat-anybody-great-journey-man Ryder, out-of-the-ring-over-a-year-moving-up-two-weight-classes-there-for-a-paycheck Jermell, and now probably blown-up-record-fundamentally-and-defensively-deficient-gonna-get-knocked-the-f-out Munguia.

But we're not supposed to be mad Canelo is holding the belts hostage while never facing the best opponents, especially David Benavidez. Because, you know, Canelo will fight him in September. Yeah, September 20NEVER.

What pisses me off the most about it is that the sanctioning organizations won't order their mandatories. If they won't do that, their belts are worthless.

Morrell isn't as big a draw as he will be in the near future, Morrell is a lethal fighting machine. His biggest hold up to stardom is that he only fights twice a year, 10 fights in 5 years isn't the best way to jump start your career! The blame falls on his promoter, and his management team, who are supposed to advocate for him, and his career!

True. I think the WBO might technically be off the hook (not sure) because Ryder was their mandatory. But they all suck.

And I forgot to add this to my post: Canelo, fight whoever you want. Just drop the belts if you won't fight Benavidez NEXT.

Yes, Canelo has apparently defended his WBO twice, vs Ryder who was mandatory, and then the WBO president said that the GGG fight also satisfied their mandatory requirements, I guess since he was the Super champion the division down.

WBA hasn't been satisfied since Smith v Canelo. WBC was last satisfied by Canelo v Yildirim. IBF was last satisfied by Canelo v Plant (maybe?). The last time I recall an official IBF mandatory was Plant v Feigenbutz. Not sure if Truax was a mandatory. So Canelo has defended his WBC and WBO belts, but has never defended IBF or WBA.

None of the Cubans have a large fan base! Not King Kong Ortiz, Lara, Rigo, none of them!
