Gamboa-Salido was a unification fight in the early 2010's. I remember because Salido lost his title on the scale for blowing the IBF rehydration limit.

That fight would be fking fireworks. I wonder if they can do it for NYE

"Boxing Fans" are fked. 126 isn't even a good fking division, it just has bigger guys.

They don't want to see Inoue have great fights and challeged, they just want him to eventually run into someone way too big so they can say "See? Hypejob"

There's an asterisk on that one, because as you know the WBA likes to ruin everything.

Chris John was the WBA (Super) champion, Gamboa was WBA (Regular) champion. So technically Gamboa unified the IBF belt with a fake WBA belt. Then Chris John had a rib injury and was declared Champion-in-Recess, so Gamboa was briefly elevated to full WBA Champion status. Then John was reinstated as Super Champion after winning his return fight, so then Gamboa was demoted back to secondary WBA champion, then he moved up anyway.

            So figure that nonsense out.

That's a wild stat, TR needs to make it happen, it is too obvious imo. WBA could be a wildcard, as I don't imagine Ford sticks around much longer at 126 and if Ball were to beat him, may be a guy TR and Warren could work to put in a unification as well.

Part of me is starting to think that the champions of 126 don't want to unify yet because they all want a chance at the inevitable payday chance next year. I mean it doesn't take a rocket scientist to guess that Inoue will be up in 126 come 2025.

Similar to Canelo @168, I think Inoue will be the reason why 126 finally gets Undisputed. Inoue is becoming a cash-cow for the lower weights.

Unlike other fighters, Inoue fights the best first. So whichever one of them has more than one belt would get the first shot at Inoue. I'd be rushing to unify, personally. The fact that they aren't tells me that they want the paycheck more than they think they can win. And if one of them could become undisputed before Inoue moved up, that fight would make even more.
