Statistics don't take into account manner of victory. Floyd used a style that worked very well under conditions that maximised his likelihood of victory. He never attempted it in Mexico, Britain or the Philippines.

Is this a criticism? If so, it could be just as simplisticaly construed to argue that Canelo always sought opponents with more experience than him. This type of univariate analysis is the foundation of much of the opinion expressed as 'fact' in this forum.

Mosley, Khan, Cotto are "big names", but they were all past their prime and he fought them at heigher weight that their prime was.

When did you expect Canelo to fight these guys? Canelo fought Cotto and Khan when he was just 25 yrs old, and Mosley when he was just 21. Did he really waiti around for these guys to get old or is that just a false narrative? Should he have faced them as a teenager?

AJ bigger than Canelo? If that was even remotely true, fans across the world would have been losing their minds railing on for the last year about him fighting Robert Helenius, Jermaine Franklin and Otto Wallin. Plus he "retired" after the Hatton fight thus avoiding Cotto when the fight would have been at its most interesting. He got salty when someone else took the limelight in his absence, came back and gave a henpecking performance against JMM and then started throwing PED accusations around. Boxing has the worst, most double standard having, hypocritical fans in all of sports.

Canelo always been protected by Golden Boy, G was always ready for the call. We saw why in the first fight. Pirog would've schooled him Eastern Euro style, like Bivol. Plus he always had a massive weight cut, resulting in being the bigger man in the ring. Now Benny is the fresh fighter with a massive weightcut at 168 and Canelo is hiding under the bed.

Cotto was a worn figher, Mosley had no legs and has the frame of a LW. I can go on and on most of his opponents weren't live dogs.
