Will Ryan make more money than Canelo, even if it's Berlanga???

Probably will bc of the social media sheep that follow Garcia. He hasn't earned his star power thru boxing. But the internet runs the world thru the brainwashing power it has over these younger generation folks that got them believing Garcia is an elite boxer. He's a decent boxer, but if he had to earn it the hard way like your average fighter and fight guys who weren't tailor-made for him to look good, he'd most likely never get to the heights and popularity that the true stars of boxing had to earn it by. It is what it is tho. That's the social media era for you.

Canelo will only come close to a mil ppv’s again if he faced Benavidez or Crawford. Otherwise it’ll be another bust.

"This sequence could affirm a torch-passing moment for Garcia. Not only is he fighting to become a world champion for the first time, he’s poised to wrest away the mantle as the sport’s new pay-per-view king from Alvarez."

Again, boxing would be so much better off without him breaking banks and not having networks blow all their dosh on his cherry picking uninspiring fights. Seems like the guy has broken every contract he’s ever had

Agree. I'd love to see the accounting on Canelo's last few fights that few had interest in, but Canelo's minimum of $30M+ was met. I'm sure Tank is the much more profitable boxer for a platform these days.

I'm not convinced he does it then either. Look at how poorly Benavidez did on his PPV outings. That says it all. He's not a PPV star. He doesn't fill arenas. And it's not like he's got a fan unfriendly style like some, so that's gotta be at least in part crap promotion. And Crawford somehow wasn't able to sell either. The biggest sellers are the Ryan Garcia and Jake Paul types, which is crazy. Right now, boxing is in the same position that Blockbuster was. It's failed to keep up with the times, and we're going to see some major changes moving forward. It's one of the oldest sports, so I don't see it changing, but big changes are coming, and already here. Amazon is going to lose money with crap PPV starts like the Thurman card, and PBC will be done.

This is why I can't buy all these fabrications about PBC/Haymon offering tens of millions of dollars into luring Canelo back into their arms as if Showtime hasn't exited boxing. Their deal with Amazon is an entirely different animal. Can't even get an annual budget, according to Espinoza, like they used to with Showtime. So people need to think and use common sense before absorbing all these Fat Dan and Mannix articles. They're just guessing.
