Wherever one wishes to apportion all/most of the blame, I think we can all agree it's a travesty the fight didn't take place 13th March 2010 as originally planned. It was a huge disappointment and I've frankly not felt quite the same about boxing ever since.

I doubt the two protagonists care at this point though, if they ever did.

He actually said that he had a drug test close to the Morales fight and is the reason he lost because taking the blood out made him smaller.

Floyd lives rent free in some people's head. It has been so many years now and it still hurts.

How many excuses did Pac and company came out with. Should I start listing them?

          Absolutely.

Claims to not be a Floyd defender, proceeds to defend Floyd tooth and nail.

in 2012 floyd who had already agreed to a 50-50 purse split against pac suddenly changed his mind when pac agreed to drug testing. the new deal was pac only gets a 40 million flat fee with no ppv revenue at all.

This will prove that floyd going from a 50-50 split to a flat offer of 40 million was in fact a duck move(i think the vast majority realize this but maybe cant articulate quite how it was a duck since they dont have the numbers)

floyd had 8 ppvs under his belt at that time so lets compare his 8 ppvs to mannys last 8 ppvs before the flat offer and see what we get...

if we go back 1 fight before the offer pac-marquez 3 did 1.4 million. floyd-ortiz did 1.25 million. edge to pac.

if we go back 2 fights pac-mosley did 1.34 and floyd-mosley did 1.4. total thats 2.74 for pac and 2.65 for floyd. edge to pac

if we go back 3 fights pac-marg 1.15 and floyd-marquez 1. total 3.89 for pac and 3.65 for floyd. edge to pac.

if we go back 4 fights pac-clottey 700k and floyd-hatton 850k. total 4.59 for pac and 4.5 for floyd. edge to pac.

if we go back 5 fights pac-cotto 1.25 and floyd-hoya 2.4. total 5.84 for pac and 6.9 for floyd. edge to floyd.

if we go back 6 fights pac-hatton 850k and floyd-baldomir 325k. total 6.68 for pac and 7.25 for floyd. edge to floyd.

if we go back 7 fights pac-hoya 1.25 and floyd-judah 375k. total pac 7.94 and 7.6 for floyd. edge to pac.

if we go back 8 fights pac-diaz 200k and floyd-gatti 350k. total pac 8.14 and 7.95 for floyd. edge to pac.

oh yes and there are also the live gates that come into play. couldnt find them all but i have 66.7 for pac minus the david diaz fight and 64.2 million for floyd minus the baldomir fight. seems like a slight edge to pac there as well.

            In Summary

Pac ppv revenue: 8.14 million live gate 66.7 million

Floyd ppv revenue: 7.95 million live gate 64.2 million

when floyd and pac did fight they split 400 million but in 2012 they probably would have generated even more but lets just say in 2012 it also sells 400 million. why did pac only deserve 40 million with floyd getting 360 million or more? that equates to a 90-10 split in floyds favor. i cant believe anyone actually blamed pac for not accepting this sh-it given his numbers were on par or better than floyds. a blatant duck and the prime example of what a lowball offer is, it especially makes it apparent floyd was ducking since he had already agreed to the 50-50 split only to change it later when his bluff was called about the testing. this was an absolute farce and disgrace on boxing.
I’d rather pay for a Pac fight but that said. You’re peeling the skin off a g**** instead of washing it.

During his interview Thursday on ESPN's First Take show, Pacquiao said he sees no problem with the drug-testing issue.

"No problem," Pacquiao said. "Whatever he wants to do."

He said he is willing to be tested even on the night of the fight. "No problem," he said. "Even the night of the fight. No problem."

The other major contentious issue is the fight purse which appears to have likewise been resolved with Pacquiao's latest statement on ESPN, saying he is now willing to face Mayweather on a 55-45 purse split in order to make the fight happen.

Ha that turned out to be the smartest move he made he walked away with 120 million plus, and ppv.

40 million and no ppv he would have been grossly shortchanging himself and he apparently knew it.

Floyd told Stephen A. that he called Manny and offered to wire 20 million upfront.

Who in their right mind believed that Floyd Mayweather, actually had 20 million liquidated upfront to send Manny Pacquaio that boy spends the money as fast as he gets it.
Certainly not Manny he hung up the phone immediately.

Manny was supposed to turn that down and nobody was mad at him for doing it.

daggum always avoids this part of the story when defending Manny for refusing offers to fight.

I really triggered daggum in the other thread such that he felt a need to make a thread in 2024 about this.

                      Absolutely pathetic.

Manny fans will never be able to come to grips with the fact he turned down $40 mil, the most he would ever made up to that point, to instead make significantly less for cherrypicking JMM figuring he’d get an easy win.

                      Instead he got embarrassingly KTFO.

That is Karma for making a fight with an opponent he was quoted as saying, he has nothing more to prove’ when JMM asked for a 4th fight.

Manny and Bob tried to use JMM to prove to Floyd he was just as big a name when he wasn’t. They paid for it.

yes I remember this, Arum said fight couldnt happen because floyd was going to jail. Then floyd got the courts to move his jail start date just for the fight and Bob just had a new excuse, so he moved it for nothing.

I also remember one of Bob's new excuses was they needed to build an entire new stadium just for the fight. there was no other location that could contain a fight of that magnitude. Then when the fight finally happened it was at the MGM like every other big fight. lmao
