Team Canelo must have a backup plan as to why they made this move if the reports are accurate. It'd be wise to just go on a fight by fight basis and avoid locking yourself in with one specific promoter. That's probably what will happen moving forward.

Zero interest in Charlo, Munguía, OR Berlanga. The sanctioning organizations need to call their mandatories. Or maybe the boxing writers need to stop recognizing the ones who WON'T call their mandatories, and put them in the same bin as the IBO.

Let's be clear that the WBC and WBA are the ones at fault here, letting Canelo ignore his mandatories for 3+ years in the case of Morrell, and 2+ years in the case of Benavidez.

If they ordered the mandatories, he'd have to fight them or get stripped.

In order to justify canelo making the money he was promised, he needed to take a fight that would generate money as his previous fights have not drawn to justify his cut. PBC insisted on Benavidez or even Crawford and canelo wanted no one other than charlo. That fight won’t do the numbers necessary so canelo basically ran away to avoid Benavidez. On e of the most cowardly displays you’ll ever see in a combat sport.

People need to manage their expectations lol. As fans of the sport we expect certain things forgetting that this is boxing and the business model and regulations are not like pro leagues.

Not making excuses, but add the fact that Canelo has been fighting as a pro since 2005 and already faced the big names from the previous era. This has been an extended fare well your like I said years ago. He's managing the pressures from his entourage and of the people to whom he feels indebted and craving his path out of the sport as safely as he can.. The only way he can live safely and in peace moving forward. This is boxing, never forget that..

The only one spinning things are you canelo fans who want to justify his ducking. It’s been widely reported that canelo was only interested in charlo, and no way canelo warrants 35 mil for that fight. Canelo has turned down multiple offers for more than 35 mil to face Benavidez I don’t know how blatant Canelo’s ducking needs to be, but it seems like in order for canelo fans to truly believe that he’s ducking, is to watch him standing in a puddle of his own urine and admit that he’s petrified of Benavidez. I used to like watching Canelo but he has turned into a sh** show. He's clearly avoiding Benavides, there's no more excuses, so I guess splitting from PBC was his way of getting out of things.
