None of you have addressed where is the money to fight Benavidez? Anyone can say I’m offering 100 Million! You have to have a contract and the money in escrow! Otherwise it’s all CAP ! Nobody and I mean nobody has sent Alvarez a real offer.

The problem boils down to this: PBC is not able to come up with the escrow money to mike any fight between Canelo and any PBC fighter under the PBC au****es. The least of the problem is that PBC cannot make a Canelo fight happen because they lack funds, the bigger problem is how is PBC going to make fights for any of the stable of more than 150 fighters under contract? The vast majority of them do not have millions of bucks in the bank to carry them through until they sign with another promoter or until PBC becomes financially solvent.

The answer to your question is: Because Haymon doesn't have the money to make the fight happen. He doesn't even have enough money to pay the undercard fighters or to rent the facility.

Is it opponent or money? Why would he be so desperate to fight Charlo? And allegedly PBC offered $55m for it to be Benevidez. And how does the mexican TV deal affect things? And didn't he quit DAZN similarly to go on a fight by fight basis?

If nothing else the publicity has been fantastic but if he still fails to fight Benevidez it's still a quack attack

Canelo is not "desperate" to fight Charlo. He had already signed a contract to fight him as part of the PBC deal. If he reneges, he can then be sued by Charlo's people and by PBC. That is why he insists that either PBC honor the contract or release him from the contract. He is now a free agent again.
