The era just ended with Crawford-Spence. Give it some time to rebuild. Boots and Stanionis are the best guys out there currently.

there is a lot more going on there than is likely going to happen at welter any time soon.
All the names are moving to 54 or at 54
Ortiz, Thurman, Spence, Tszyu, Charlo, Crawford, Castano, Danny, etc.
While Boots will be stuck with Barrios, Stanionis, Santillan, etc.

Yes, because Haymon & PBC monopolized the division and purposely locked Crawford out.
Now, folks are holding Crawford to a standard after winning in July that they didn't hold Spence to for 4 or 5 years.
I do think Bud should either defend his belts or move up.

It was very overrated during the Crawford/Spence/Porter/D Garcia/Thurman era. Fighters like Thurman/D Garcia/Porter were **** average in reality, but because Welterweight was the only division Americans dominated , it became the glamour division.
Crawford proved to be far ahead of the rest..
And now the best American talent is at lightweight and light welterweight so 147 is being forgotten about.
I don't think Crawford has long left or might move up to 147
So the divisions future is probably Eimantis Stanionis, Jaron Ennis, Cody Crowley, Conor Benn, Paddy Donovan. And they'll need to actually fight each other to get some hype back into the division
