It's a sport that people pay for. I guess you can ignore the sporting aspect...the part where you're supposed to beat the best available competition in your weight class. Just call it "Entertainment" like professional wrestling. Is that what it is? He's making personal appearances in the ring against guys he knows he can beat. I don't buy the whole "he took hard fights earlier in his career and coast now" theory. He's holding all the belts at 168 and isn't defending them.

He doesn’t want any part of the Russian light heavy bivol who offered to come down to super middle. This is canelo’s MO. He ducks until he has an advantage. Honestly I wish he would just retire, he’s bankrupting networks and promotions and his fights don’t do the business the boxing media or his nationalist Mexican American fanbase claim they do. Money wasted on him would be better spent making 10-20 excellent cards
The building of Canelo into a superstar is incredibly fraudulent. Lost to Floyd, Lara, GGG 2x, Bivol absolutely kicked his ass. Pulling Charlo up. Ducking Benavidez for literally years.
Canelo is mainly fiction. A good fighter, great chin. But he was built up by the promoters to make money. He is not a legendary fighter with an amazing skill set.

Canelo following the Mayweather path: will fight anybody, EXCEPT if he has a real chance of losing. And we all know he would lose to Benevidez, including himself.

Why is Canelo being held to a higher standard then Bud Crawford, the supposed P4P #1?
Look at Saul's resume.

Ginger playing all of his haters thinking there will be no Benavidez fight lmao same thing happen with GGG and they end up doing a trilogy. Canelo knows boxing business very well.

Well of course he owes it, he's a multi millionaire because of the people so he fights Benavides and we will owe him a ppv buy. The consumers want great fights and we will not pay for another john rider or blown up junior middleweight fight five years too late type of moves.

We’ve gone from a world where fans were/are accusing fighters of ducking others as well as justifying why their favorite fighters shouldn’t fight specific fighters to boxing writers literally DEFENDING fighters for ducking other fighters.
I’ve been a long time Canelo fan. Canelo has proven to not only be a HoF guy but unquestionably an ATG based on his body of work. But for a guy who is ONLY 33 years old and just coming off fighting a blown up Junior Middle Weight choosing not to fight the actual top guy at 168 is not only just mind boggling but an outright duck.
There is no shame in Canelo avoiding Benavidez, just own it and move on to the “business side of boxing” and continue to pad up your HoF career.
Own it. It’s pretty simple. Guys like an almost 30 year old Tank are on recording looking at just the business side of boxing. And again, I speak as a Tank fan but to refuse to fight Shakur or Haney is an outright duck.
