  • Comments Thread For: John Fury: Tyson's Performance With Ngannou Was Wake-Up Call, a 70% Tyson is Enough To Beat Usyk

John Fury, father of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, believes his son's last performance was a wake-up call for the entire team. Back in October, Fury struggled to win a close ten round split decision over former UFC champion Francis Ngannou, who was making his pro debut.

Another masterclass then is it John ?

Just like the last one you predicted before Ngannou sat your boy on his arse and did the Professor dance over him.

Tysons gonna need a 110% effort to best Usyk. He's coming for that last belt and don't want to walk away with an O.

70% aint gonna get it done eh!

I dont think anything should be deduced from the Ngannou fight really. Usyk and Ngannou are about as different stylistically as you can get. Usyk is obviously super skilled and a mover with a very good engine, but he doesnt have Ngannous size, strength and power and Fury likes to be the bigger man and the bully.

Fury's size can only come into play if Usyk gasses late like Wilder did. But Usyks got a better engine and can control pace and distance better than anyone Furys faced.

You cant hit what you cant catch. Im curious to see if Fury goes all herky jerky again to mess with Usyks timing rather than try to bully him. He'll get caught walking into something and won't like it.

Which is when the game plan might switch to rough house bar room brawling. Elbows, headbutts, rabbit punches, low blows.

Then we'll see how impartial the refs are. They're the key to this fight. All things being equal and in a fair and square fight i expect an Usyk masterclass.

AJ couldnt outbox or bully Usyk. I doubt Fury can. Usyk is fighting for his country and legacy. Fury is fighting for legacy and the money.

I'm amazed anyone can contradict themself so frequently with so few words.

Tyson Fury has always been a bit lacksadaisacal but has always been a good worker.

You need brains in your corner. Forget Tyson's team.

Usyk will win if Tyson's team don't prepare properly. Just wind him up and lt him go, 70% Tyson will do the trick.

              Make your mind up!

He was spot on with this little nugget of wisdom though:

"Everybody needs a wake-up call now and again and without these wake-up calls, you’re never going to wake up are you?"

Sage words, John. Opened my eyes.

IMHO that’s the real fury, sans his performance enhancement routine. Man had no legs, no real speed, little to no stamina. If you go back and watch early Tyson fights he used to live against the ropes because he could lean back out of reach and rest, suddenly one day he’s hopping around the ring like he’s 115lbs. Expect Fury to be doped to the gills for the USyk fight. I’ll also wait for any fury fans to explain how he suddenly became this stamina machine out of the blue despite weighing more, getting older, and the reality that oversized men’s joints can’t take that long term.

Tyson Fury will never fight again. He is going to suffer a mental breakdown next week.
