Out of all the opponents, who are all punchers, except for Otto and Sanchez (who moves very well for AJ), he picked number 10 - Otto, who was his sparring partner and is not a puncher. But The Ring's number 10 in November was Bakole, then Otto replaced him. Now, the question is what Otto is, because, for some haters, he is a bum when Fury fought him. But to others, he is good because AJ fought him. Otto beat "one of the best opponents" (Gassiev) of Usyk, so is Otto a bum? If he is, then "one of the best Usyk's opponents" is even a greater bum. Some fans suffer from schizophrenia.

To me, Otto is a good boxer, but he lacks enough never to be near to a title shot. In AJ's case, he was the lowest risk, which is not worth the respect, considering the other tops available and the fact AJ knows Otto pretty well and previously fought Franklin and Helenius and was very unimpressive. Now AJ has an exhibition fight, one that is not even 12 rounds, against a 0-1 fighter, which fight will determine who will challenge the Undisputed.

According to Eddie Hearn, he spoke to Turki immediately after Parker beat Wilder. Turki confirmed that fighting Wilder was no longer an option and asked Eddie who he thought the best alternative opponent would be. Eddie told him that would be Ngannou. Turki agreed and the rest is history.
