Jones would've never fought him just like he never fought Collins, that would've been the reality of it sadly...

And it's not like Collins wouldn't of filled an arena with the Irish.

On topic, prime Roy Jones tends to be overrated. Very good fighter, obviously, but not this unbeatable "mythological creature" he's made out to be. He looked spectacular beating overmatched opposition as great fighters often do, but he always had a bad habit of laying on the ropes - that wasn't something he only started doing once he got old, as is commonly believed. Higher caliber opposition would have exposed his weaknesses much earlier.
BINGO... thats the sad truth about Jones & he avoided ALOT of tough fighters in his day... Beterbiev by ko

Beterbiev by vicious ko, if jones couldn't ko little James Toney, no way he beats a solid hard punching 175Ibs... Roy was even outclassed by Joe Calzaghe

He did a group panel with Paulie and another guy (trainer?). There are similarities with Toney maybe because of the high guard coming forward but when they clinched Beterbiev would keep punching (Remember you have to lock both of his arms especially if you are in a corner). One theory Jones might drop him a couple of times and he'd become frustrated. Bivol is going to hit him with fast combos and get out of there. I need to see what happens in that fight.

Unfortunately, Prime Wolverine starts at Cloud and ends somewhere around 35 just before Covid and the injuries but he is still damn good.

Remember he spent roughly 20 - 29 in the amateurs. That could have been pro-development but that is the same for many Cuban and Eastern Euros

A prime Calzaghe would have made it a close fight

Prime Roy was a very special fighter and I can't put Bertebiev over him based on anything Bertebiev has achieved thus far.

Can't forget Michael Spinks, Holyfield, Bob Foster & other great 175 lb fighters.

I love Joe, but only thing he had over RJJ was volume. He would've given Roy too many openings and would've paid for it heavily.
