Wow! A lot of really great posts on this thread! Efin Panda with the perfect analogy lol! Bread made a great point. He said at about 145 and above, the guys are athletic... I believe real power starts at Welter, but the punchers really become dangerous at Middle and above. I think they actually lose a bit at heavy despite the greater weights... which is why guys traditionally came in light. Just my two cents.

        agree and disagree.

any weight below lightweight is just weirdly small.
we live in a modern world now
the average man nowadays weighs at least 140 pounds.

those lower weights existed back then because men were malnourished and had poor nutrition

any weight below lightweight should have a suffix of "-let"

so if you are a bantamweight, you should be called bantamweightlet, same with feather, fly, and all those in between.

126 should be the smallest division. Eat some food and stop starving.

yup 126 should be the lowest this way a guy who's 5-5-5-7 who's 140 can cut down to126.

Disagree , those weight classes have very skilled fighters BAM, Sunny , Estrada, Chocolatito , Loka ect ........And those guys actually fight each other one of the main reasons I have been hanging on to my DAZN sub is they show the little guys love.

The average grown man weighs 136 pounds. The average American male weighs 198 lbs. Way more of the world's population is below 136. And considering how much the fat Americans skew the average, that should tell you something.

This thread is nothing but ignorant bigotry.

                  it's true.

a 115 lb is rare for even a female.

The difference between divisions is basically the weight of a good morning s**t. Ridiculous.
