Writers and boxing fans have some sick fetish for the little guys. The fact is 105-118 is the weakest division in boxing because the talent pool is very small. Even small males who are 5-3-5-5 and cut weight come down to about 126-130. 126-135 is competitive because that's where most short man end up at after cutting weight. 105-118 just dosen't have a lot of talent because it's not natural for grown men even midgets to weigh that much.

Too many divisions of low weight with a difference of 2 kg. difference and then you jump to cruiser and heavy, supposedly all will adopt the bridger.Comment

100%. There are too many lil guy divisions that are too close together % weight gain-wise. The fact 10 of the 17 weight divisions are between 105 & 140 (35lbs) is absolutely ridiculous.Comment

Bridgerweight don't make no fooking sense unless they carve out a actual weight for it & change CW &/or HW to fit it.
Right now its like a "trans-weight". someone who weighs 215 can choose to identify as a bridgerweight or a heavyweight. Sh^ts ******.Comment

It makes perfect sense:- super middleweight - 168 pounds (76 kg.)
- light heavyweight - 175 pounds (79 kg.)
- cruiserweight - 200 pounds (91 kg.)
- heavyweight - above 91 kg.
What I agree with is that the current status of the bridger is ****** - a division within the division. From what I know, back then, people didn't like the cruiserweight idea.
There is no other fighting sport with such inadequate weight divisions. Even if I go out of the fighting ones, they are better established in weightlifting and powerlifting, for example.
To the topic: I can't tell which division is "the weakest". They all have their highs and lows in time.Last edited by N/A; 01-24-2024, 03:00 AM.Comment
