After Opetaia sparred a bit against Fury, he decided it wasn't useful for him personally (likely due to size, but maybe also the style), and Fury didn't have any other orthodox fighters there, so Opetaia left. Could Opetaia have figured that out without going to the camp? Maybe. I'm sure Fury's camp paid for his flight & hotel, etc., so perhaps he thought it was worth a shot and perhaps he was also curious what sparring a top HW was like.
