So the cruiserweight champ Jai Opetaia was hired t help Tyson Fury spar for Usyk fight. But after only five rounds Jai supposedly left the camp and flew back to Australia, claiming Fury's style was all wrong for him for his next fight vs Breidis but also saying he had terrific sparring with Fury, blah blah blah. He will fly back to Saudi Arabia in two weeks for the fight. But you have to wonder what the REAL REASON is. Did Jai KO or deck Fury and get booted? Jai could have stayed and just sparred with the other sparring partners. My guess is Jai was beating up the shot Fury and after five rounds he got the boot from Fury.

Naturally people will speculate what they wish was true.
Opetaia fans/Fury haters will say Fury was dropped.
Fury fans will say that Jai was dropped (mot sure Opetaia has any haters!)
Who knows, but Tasman Fighters have said its not the case

He just left for his own prep.
Everything else at this point is just in your hopes and dreams.

From Fury's end it would he beneficial for him if he was to keep him if he was getting dropped and worked over. It is a championship fight and what miles are on the clock are gonna stay on the clock and feasibly this could be his last fight depending on what is looks like.
If he was having trouble reading the shots from the smaller man with better speed the only way he is going to fix that is to stay in with him.
I dont think there is anything to this one other than what they have said.
The Aussie is putting himself first as he should do.

Given Opetiai has got an opponent who broke his jaw in half and went hell for leather with him on short notice, he was never going to spend much time in Fury's camp. To fly out for 5 rounds of sparring was merely a sign of respect and got paid a fair few bob for it.
He is a champion in his own right, he is nobody's sparring partner anymore. He knows Fury is a different generation who he'll never get to fight so might as well take the opportunity whilst it was there.dan-b

He probably left because sparring Fury does nothing for him. He has a huge fight to prepare for, and Briedis isn't a 6'7 fatass.

Sparring 6”9 Fury doesn’t exactly make sense if you’re fighting 6”1 Breidis. Seems a perfectly reasonable explanation tbf.

The rumor is he dropped Fury - and I think that needs to be given some credence.
Australia to Saudi Arabia is a massive journey. You don't make that kind of trip to come out for a day or two, period.
Simply put - something happened. 100%. We just don't know what.dannnnn

Amen, someone was getting schooled, no way Opetia came that far just to do 5 rounds.
I Guess we will find out after the Usyk fight.
