Backward. Using that word cause of his background you would not use it if it was someone from the USTurki is clearly a bit backward I think. I don’t think he understands the implications of weight classes. I’m ok with him investing in the sport and allowing an experienced promoter or matchmaker to select the fights like Warren has done for the two previous cards. However, I think it’s a terrible idea to let some mega rich Sheikh with no experience in boxing start putting fights together.
The same US where a lot of deluded fans call for Inoue to fight Tank or Bud to fight Canelo. Them 2 are way worse mismatches and jump in weight than Beterbiev fighting Opetaia, which is also a big jump but Beterbiev has fought at heavyweight in amatuers. Bud has never fought above 147, Inoue has never fought above 122 and even that being a new divisionComment

If you beat the man then you become the man right? That's how lineal works. If he beats AJ then he deserves to take his spot as challenger for the title. It's not about the numbers. Quality over quantity.Comment

It's a meaningless sideshow in the general scheme of things.
Fury facing Ngannou was a cross code exhibition fight between a boxer and an MMA guy. A novelty event. It still is even though it's Joshua now.
I see it as the come down act after the main event; Zhang v Parker for legit contender to the title of best heavyweight boxer in the world.
Sure AJ can be part of that conversation but he isnt THE conversation and Ngannou isn't even part of the conversation unless he beats Joshua.Comment

Imo , very disrespectful to other boxers who have trained and worked hard to achieve that pinnacle
This guy gets a pass without fighting anybody cause some rich guy is throwing and flexing his money
To each their ownComment

I’m not even from the US.

Saudi is clearly a backward country. Human rights are on the floor over there.Comment

Bad news. A wealthy camel guy is now driving boxing the way he wants, giving an insane amount of money can make boxers stay and wait for the big cash, which can result in something similar to what we have now. Yes, he sped up the happening of some big fights that were inevitable anyway, making big events, but again - having the sport ruled by the will of one man...So here we go again
First , he. demands the winner of the unified fight , Fury vs Usyk , to fight the winner. of AJ vs mma guy
Now , he’s flexing his power and demanding the winner Beterbiev vs Bivol go up and fight Opetaia
The start of good news or bad news ?
Ou be te judgeComment

Ngannou isn't just some guy who hasn't trained or worked hard though. He's earned it in his own way. Not many people could do what he has done on his journey. Plus that's just how it is in boxing and life in general. It ain't always fair and people don't always get what they deserve so there's nothing new in that sense.Comment

Back in the day plenty of smaller fighter's used to fight in much higher weight classes than their natural weight and WIN e.g. Greb, Armstrong, Langford etc. Therefore, asking Bivol/Beterbiev to move up a division really isn't asking much.Turki is clearly a bit backward I think.
