Canelo is loading up. When Beterbiev is in range, he will throw combos when Bivol shells, sticking shots to his plexes around the elbows like he did Browne. He also uses the piledriver jab with his left or right (he has to be ambidextrous) to split guard and loop with a hook behind the ear. Crazy fight; I can't wait to see it. If Bivol wins, it's fair, but I only see him as a classic boxer. Beterbiev is a very unique fighter, and based on his age, it would be a great accomplishment. Even the guys online who hate Eastern European fighters like him, LOL

I'm not sure where the great moment comes from. He doesn't have Lara's legs. He stands in front of you like FMW Jr, wide stance bounce in and out with short burst combos.

What else he should be? everybody doesn`t have to be some KO monster artist, lol.

To be honest, I have always seen KO artists as overrated. I prefer pure boxers.

Thing is he doesn't just shell up. He uses an active high guard to deflect shots coupled with footwork. It's not very energy intensive, and he's not taking much impact that way. Beterbiev doesn't open up much until he's in the mid range, and Bivol is really good at staying in the long range. Even when he gets to the ropes, which is rare, he doesn't seem to take much damage. Beterbiev has a single inch of reach advantage, which he's going to need to beat Bivol's jab. If he fights like he has in the last two fights, I don't think he breaks the distance to break Bivol down. He only got his offense off against Smith when Smith literally set his feet and stopped punching. Otherwise it's all single shot counters, and Bivol is way more defensively responsible than Smith or Yarde, and has way faster feet.

I think he walks to Bivol, gets peppered by shots, tries to get him to the ropes while throwing very little, then Bivol does a blinding combo right as he takes that last step with his feet off the ground, and disappears out the side. Occasionally when he tries to rest, Bivol will open up and back him up, and he didn't throw anything at all when Smith backed him up. Bivol can do that all night and never get out of first gear. I think you're right that if Beterbiev can break Bivol's guard with his jab that it will make the difference, but that's easier said than done.

I don't mind if Artur wins this one and proves he's got more than I saw in the last couple fights, but right now, I think it's a more difficult task. Either way, whoever wins the fight will really elevate themselves. Not to #1, but should pass Canelo and maybe even get to 3 depending on how the Usyk v Fury fight goes. If Usyk wins that, he's still in top 3 no matter what happens with Beterbiev and Bivol IMO.

          It's a great fight
and I'm not ashamed to say I don't know who wins this one
It's very hard to predict fights between elite fighters with very different styles
Because you can't really know key things about how effective their strengths will be against each other
          for example
Berbetiev has an excellent heavy jab which is crucial for him to close distance
But Bivol has great movement and a sophisticated active guard
Which will work better on the day?
          I have no idea
After the fight it will be obvious (like Spence Crawford)
          But right now?????

And both fighters have strong amateur backgrounds, sound fundamentals and very high boxing IQ
this is a tough fight to call

the same goes for beterbiev if he wins, right?, number 1 p4p

2 of my fave fighters. I think Beterbiev wins ny Ko mid to late rounds.

I am sorry but Bivol looks like a weaker version of Gvozdyk

The problem and difference here is Artur is a fine fine boxer.

Bivol is much faster than flat footed Gvozdyk. Not the same fighter at all.

Not sure what are you guys watching, I guess you all are overimpressed with KO`s.
