Joshua UD, but he needs to give Ngannou full respect, fight him like he fought Ruiz 2.

It only shows what Hearn really feels about Joshua, he said Ngannou fighting Fury was a joke

Not only Hearn said that but practically everyone said the same. So, now that Ngannou has proved himself vs Greedy Belly the narrative has changed and AJ is willing to face him. Just like AJ told Greedy Belly to get in shape first - after his 2 years PED ban - before they could talk about facing eachother. Unlike AJ Wilder cherry picked an out of shape Greedy Belly thinking he could beat him in that shape. The rest is history. After Greedy Belly dethroned Wilder AJ was keen to fight him for the undisputed championship but Greedy Belly wasn't really interested.

Whether Fury trained a lot or not very much for it, Ngannou still impressed me in their fight. He imrpessed me with his durability, his ability to come forward and pressure Fury, and with his boxing ability. He looked much, much better than expected.

That all said, Fury clocked him easily a number of times and even with a great chin, I would have to think if he offers up the same openings to Joshua that the fight will come to a premature end.

I expect Joshua to win by stoppage, but punchers chance and all that for Ngannou.

Eddie two days after fury vs Ngannou, speaking on the Ariel helwani show:

“Ngannou is the easiest fight ever, AJ will beat him easily, ngannou wouldn’t even beat my local town area champion”

I went back and rewatched the Fury Ngannou fight and give Ngannou a better chance then just a puncher's chance.

If they come in close then we'll see fast hands from both of them and Ngannou will have his chance. And if they get real close then Joshua will see what shocked Fury - the guy is unbelievably strong. Fury couldn't hold him and any kind of clinch was an opportunity for Ngannou to move Fury where he wanted and land shots.

For all the promo I actually expect a fairly dull fight. Ngannou doesn't have the movement to close the distance, Joshua won't want to close the distance. Joshua will be happy to stay behind a jab and outbox him. Potential to stop him too but it will all be from range.

If that happens, then Ngannou isn't good enough to create an opening to land his puncher's chance. He needs Joshua to be as foolish and as poor as Fury was on the night - he was clumsy and terrible. I don't think Joshua will be.

And you can bet Hearn has a rematch in the contract should AJ lose!

I rewatched the fight and my view was as given: he was much, much better than expected.

I'm curious as to why you give him a better chance than just a puncher's chance when your own analysis concludes with an expectation that Joshua wins unless he is both poor and foolish?

It seems we both agree that Ngannou cannot outbox Joshua.

I think he can fight. In close he's actually exceptional due to having incredible strength and faster hands than I thought he would. That's a bit more than a puncher's chance - he's viable.

Joshua needs to be smart, but we can't just assume that Joshua gets to dictate where the fight is fought; Francis will have a say in that too.
