He's a thudding type puncher, a bit like Golovkin

Smith was always across the pond level, and he did what he could, levels to the game... Smith was true to his perspective but his face told an objective story about the fight... Fighters get hit in the head because they turn their head, common sense. If we are boxing, how else, unless it is an obvious rabbit punch, does this happen? Fighters flinch, they shouldn't, they turn away. Smith got hit to the face and when he turned away he got hit where his face was a split second ago.
People should listen to beterbiev himself: " I want to be a better boxer." Not coincidentally he is starting to work smarter as he gets older... breaking his man down methodically, being responsible. Reminds me of Marciano... The most deadly hitters in the sport, among them always, are the heavy handed guys and the reason Smith, with all his reach, his left hook, etc was never going to touch beterbiev is because the smaller heavyweights, cruisers, etc constitute the "punchers" the deadliest punchers in the sport... Smith was never going to get set enough, andbeterbievhad enough of a chin to risk getting hit with the punch. The division is a puncher's paradise, and Bivol might be the only one with the boxing skills to make a fight of it.
Guys like Caleb plant, Smith, etc are excellent, but we do not have so many boxers with the skills to deal with the punchers in the middle divisions, on up.
beterbiev is indeed, a pressure fighter. |Again, watch marciano and watch beterbiev... Both men could hit you anywhere and leave a mark. Pressure fighters that can punch are only getting handled by an A level boxer. Trout did it to Canelo... despite the judges. Sweet Pea did it to Chavez. Bivol? Maybe. I don't think he is good enough, assuming beterbiev can keep fighting at his pace, and learning to break a man down like marciano had to learn to do when he fought A level boxers many moons ago.Comment

Overrated? I've watched him since amateurs. His amateur trainers said that nobody wanted to spar him in amateurs with big gloves that power he has. He literally would knock everybody including heavyweights.
If you don't believe you can check with his sparring partner Lionel Thompson he clearly says that the guy is scary but of course you will say that it is all lie and he always hits everybody illegally including Usyk in the amateursComment
