There is nothing at 147 for him anymore.

Crawford is one of only 9 fighters in the history of boxing to be lineal champion in 3 weight classes. If he becomes lineal in 4 weight classes, that list would just be Floyd, Pac, and Crawford. That's what Crawford is chasing.
I bet barely anyone could tell you how many fighters were lineal and how many times. Its an ESPN statistic it just sounds good on paper, in reality it means crap. REAL legacy is about who you fought and when, not how many cheap accolades you scrapped up. Thats the problem with boxing today. Fighters chasing crap like this instead of fighting top opponents, and muppets like you give them credit for it.

      Cheap accolades?

Again, the only 4 division lineal champions in the history of boxing are Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. If you think fighting a guy with no major wins for a belt he already vacated is more important than that, you're nuts. The best win Ennis has is a shopworn Lipinets.

There's a big damn difference between being a belt holder and being the lineal/TBRB/Ring Magazine Champion of a division.

This is one of the 3 items I found in my quick search about rematch clauses. Not one of them mentioned anything about deadlines, but this one mentions "when."

What is a Rematch Clause in Boxing?
        https://thesportsreviewer.com/what-i...use-in-boxing/

        Excerpts:

        How Does It Work?

Once two boxers agree on terms for the first fight, including how much each participant will receive in compensation (known as “the purse”), they then need to decide whether or not they want to include a rematch clause in their contract prior to signing it off on behalf of both parties involved. The promoter also needs to sign off on any provisions stipulated within this specific portion, which usually includes details regarding when/how often bouts may occur, etc… Should both sides agree upon these points ahead of time, then all goes according to schedule– however, if either party disagrees at anytime thereafter, then renegotiations must take place prior boxing match taking place again otherwise, no new match may happen until everyone is able to come to an agreeable consensus about how rematches ought to proceed going forward under these circumstances per se..

I wouldn't be shocked, Bud is near retirement and will likely only by gunning opponents that make big numbers. Whether that fighter is skilled enough or not. He can (and did) wait with a pretext for multiple months without until a opportunity surfaces.

It frustrates me that fans (and possibly himself) have been pushing for him to take on Canelo taking away the opportunities for top conteders at 168 that actually have competed at the division for the belts.

Honestly I think might just be a waste of time due to the gap of three weigh divisions.

Bud's most competitive performance at 147 besides a semi retired porter was against the big hitter and counter puncher in Egis "Mean Machine" Kavaliuskas, whose not only physically quite smaller. But less proven and skilled compared to Alvarez. The Gap in size might be just be too much.

Yet those same fans aren't clamoring for their hero Tank Davis to come up 3 divisions to fight Crawford, or, since he's already fought at 140, to take on Jermell or Tszyu, who are arguably softer touches than Bud. They're not suggesting Canelo should go up 3 divisions and fight Tyson Fury or Usyk either. But they've got no problem telling Bud and Inoue to jump up 3 divisions or else they're just bums.

All this huge divisional jump stuff is nonsense and a waste of time and brain cells for the smaller fighter.

My question is , why isn’t Boots calling Bud out now knowing that the rematch ain’t happening for a while ?
Wouldn’t now be the perfect time to lay it on the line ?
Isn’t this the time to call out a fighter knowing that he ain’t got a fight coming up because of the aforementioned circumstances ?
Boots should be screaming from the rooftops to anyone and everyone who dares to listen
Hanging out with tank probably. Scheming on how to make money with no risk, which ain’t hard to do at Welterweight. Theirs NO MONEY in that weight class except to fight Bud or Spence. Lots of undefeated fighter who are scared to fight one another though.

Meanwhile we have two posters , which I’m beginning to believe the second being an alt of the first poster , screaming and posting everywhere that Bud is ducking Ennis
Now that Spence is out for at least 4 to 6 months , Boots is nowhere to be found
                Lmfao
And yes , you stand correct saying many unblemished records are petrified to face each other giving themselves no credit or worthiness to fight the upper echelon

The real question is who is going to put up the money to meet Crawford's purse demand after just making a career high pay day?

                    I agree.

It's not the lack of skill or power, the gap in the body weight is just too much. If someone were to push for Gervonta Davis against Subriel Matias, Devin Haney or Teofimo Lopez. Fighters from one division above, the same people pushing for Crawford vs Canelo would complaining that Tank is too small since he is 5'6 despite that he beat Pedraza, Barrios and Garcia who are physically around the same size.

Imagine if he were to fight a Jermell Charlo or Tim Tszyu which are three divisions above lightweight. Tim is shorter than Ryan Garcia, but these weight classes based on their body frames, not height.

The Canelo nuthuggers had him going all the way to heavyweight and being successful
