Matias is the next Beterbiev of boxing IMO. Huge power, will to win, takes chances and has no fear.

Haney might UD him, but who cares.
He stops Garcia.
He ends Rolly's farce. I mean career
Teo and him is a good matchup. Teo is a great athlete. But I see Matias stopping him. Teo would do well for a few rounds but Matias's puts on too much pressure and Teo eventually cracks. Then comes up with an injury as an excuse.

Matias is a real one. Id like to see him upset the leaderboard names and stand at the top. But not quite sure this is the case. Beterbiev is a better boxer.

Prograis been ducking Matias since 2019. Josh Taylor vacated the IBF belt when Matias was his mandatory. Imma just call a spade a spade, these guys don't want to fight Matias. Low reward, high risk. Even Caterall and Hitchins both declined to be in the mix for Matias and left it to Ergashev.

- what you fail to realize is Lopez is a small 140. Josh Taylor vacated the IBF belt to avoid Matias, Matias who called out Taylor 5 years ago and got ignored. Unlike Teofimo Lopez, Subriel Matias would TKO and stop Taylor. Boxing isn't all about KOs, but Matias finishes the job so it won't go to the judges. Lopez does not have punching power at 140 and he has to work in volume. I will repeat this for you. Lopez has to work in volume and accumulate his shots to round 12. This wont work against Matias who is a true volume puncher and doesn't have to load up to hurt you, Matias throws 88 punches a round; highest volume at lightweight ahead of Arnold Barboza whos 2nd. Matias has an iron chin and Lopez has been proven to be chinny. Lopez dropped by pillow fist Kambosos who opened him up like Mankind @ Hell in the Cell 1998. Lopez isn't Floyd Jr. Lopez is flashy but he's very hittable and he keeps his head in the center line alot which will be at his disadvantage against Matias. Matias will beat Lopez to near death and Lopez father would probably be too intoxicated to throw in the towel. Hate to see Lopez lose his life that way.

Matias is a high volume puncher who's very dangerous in later rounds. Matias throws everything in the book and he doesn't throw wild. He lands at 39% which is very high for a volume puncher (88-100 punches a round) . Lopez doesn't even come close to 40 a round. Lopez is a 1-2 punch guy. Matias is throwing 6-8 hits at an unconventional timing. Matias doesn't throw wide like Lopez (Lopez has a short reach). Matias has a better jab than Lopez. Matias jab is his most used punched and it hits like a cross. Matias throws short arm punches that slip inside his oppoents arms. Lopez will be tagged up all night, sent to the hospital in 5 and possibly deleted from this earth like Dadashev. Matias isnt the guy Lopez wants to fight anyone since Lopez sent a pumpfake offer (Feb 8th when Matias fought the 25th)instead an offer for when Matias returns (March). Lopez had 1 win at 140 and you're acting like hes the goat for beating a UK hypejob who lost to Caterall and ducked Matias for 5 years. Taylor gets TKOed by Matias. Lopez resume full of handicaps and ducks. Matias being one of the guys he's completely avoiding, for good reason.

1. Shohjahon Ergashev undefeated pro who was ranked #3 at the IBF and was ducked by Catterall/Hitchins who are #1/#2 at the IBF.
2. Jeremiah Ponce - undefeated Argentine pro who had a belt and was ranked top 5 in the IBF.
3. Jumkembayev - undefeated prospect who was ranked by ring magazine and currently is ranked top in the IBF. Won 4 in a row after the Matias fight.
4. Malik Hawkins - undefeated contender who was promoted by Mayweather promotions and was picked as the favorite to beat Matias but got TKOed.
5. Fernando David Saucedo, pro who won 62 matches in his career and Matias fought him when Matias only had 12 fights.


What makes Matias dangerous is his jab, his ability to cut off the ring and his infighting/being dangerous in the clinch. Matias knows how to reach his opponents because he knows how to cut off the ring and Matias is 5"10 with a 72 inch reach. He has a very good ability to shorten his punches which increases his accuracy. Matias knows how to slip his shots in between his opponents loops. Check the Ponce fight to see Matias utilize this. If you hold Matias you're getting beat up. Matias throws 100 punches a round and he only throws more when the rounds get deeper. His style beats slick boxers. Hitchins and Caterall both ducked Matias in 2023. If the #2 and #1 guy in the IBF are ducking you, then you know youre a problem. If you called out Prograis and Taylor since 2019 and they showed zero energy to make a fight happen, then you know you're a problem. If Bill Haney has to lie about 4 million and Peter Khan and Lopez had to calculated pick Feb 8th instead of a genuine date then you know you're a problem. Matias honestly would have TKOed Taylor and Prograis, Lopez/Haney couldn't finish them because they dont have that volume/power at 140 and have to rely on outboxing their opponents. Haney and Lopez are extremely skilled no one is denying that, but Matias style negates skills. also about the Anayan loss. Did you even eatch the fight? It was a controversial decision because people who saw the fight had Matias winning 7 rounds. It was the ruled KD that gave Anayan the 10-8. Matias credited his poor preformance to drinking/smoking after the Dadashev death. Unlike Teofimo ducking a rematch with Kambosos who didnt have a controversial win, he beat Lopez up badly, Matias didnt duck a rematch and he avenged his loss in TKO fashion. You cant even name the last guy Lopez knockout but you want to highlight a fight that happen years ago that Matias proved it wasnt him. Matias last 5 opponents were 105-2 and he stopped them all. If Kambosos can crack Lopez up like an egg what do you think happens when Matias taps him once?

Blocking punches with your face against elite fighters isn’t ideal. Teo will put him in an ICU. I’m not kidding.

Ergashev only landed 18% of his punches against Matias and Ponce only landed 21%. The LW average is 29%. The only one that was blocking punches with his face and big Doug Funny nose was Lopez against Kambosos and Martin. Matias in his career never been beaten as badly as that. Lopez has tons of scar tissue on his nose thanks to Kambosos who Lopez ducked in a rematch. If pillow fist Kambo can do that to Lopez, imagine what happens when Matias taps Lopez once? Lopez keeps his head in the center line and he's not Floyd Jr or Whitaker or Camacho. Lopez gets hit and he hasn't stopped anyone in 5 years. Lopez has 0 KOs/TKOs since 2019 and you can't even name who it was against without google.

there's alot of fake hype saying Matias doesn't have "defense". Matias won 80 of his 100 amateur fights, he has an extensive amateur background. He got shot twice at age 21 and 22, and served 19 months of prison before he went pro at 24. Matias only been pro for 6 years, but he slips shots and catches punches on the glove.

This is proof you didn't even watch the Anayan fight. Matias was never dropped. To be dropped you need to be on the floor. Matias never touched the canvas. YDKSAB.

Common casual take "I never seen this guy before but he has a loss on his record, I didn't see the fight but I'm going to watch it now if someone tells me I never saw it". Matias won 7 rounds and it was a controversial decision, thus the rematch where Matias dominated.

It's the weirdest thing but I notice that guys at 140 are all calling out one another, but NO ONE at 140 EVER says, I wanna fight Gary Antuanne Russell. I never heard that from Devin, Teofimo, Ryan, Matias, His name might as well be Invisible Gary...
