My concern is callums temperament, against the rocky fieldings of the world he looks calm and composed even scary. When he took the canelo fight he changed to a deer caught in headlights demeanour (as showed by his fighting style against canelo) I think the same thing happens against an even more formidable beterbiev.

Artur inside 5-6 rounds. This Smith guy was running scared from small Canelo. Imagine when a big light heavy stars landing.SteelFist01 likes this.

People forget that Smith was already struggling to make 168 and was given less than 5 weeks notice for the Canelo fight. Not sure quite how much you can read into that but at the end of the day he went 12 rounds with a peak Canelo who then went on to obliterate Saunders and Plant. Not entirely sure if an aging Beterbiev punches harder than a prime Canelo. Haven’t seen Beterbiev break any orbital bones recently as Canelo did against Saunders. Stating Beterbiev punches harder at this point is a fairly shakey opinion.
The other thing being overlooked is quite how much punishment Beterbiev took against Yarde. Yes he won but he shipped a lot of punches and did visibly get wobbled a couple of time. Personally I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he ages overnight after that fight but we’ll see at the weekend I guess.
I think Smith is likely to do a lot better than most on here are expecting much the same as Yarde did.

I agree Smith does similar to Yarde -- he'll land a few eye catching punches, but overall will be on the end of far worse than he dishes out, in deep trouble about the fifth and won't make it to see the ninth.SteelFist01 likes this.
