Yes, he was likely going to ko Lawson anyway, but man, what was Tony Weeks thinking? One of the worst early stoppages I've ever seen.

Well, I guess it's good he got back in the ring but this couldn't have helped much in the long run. He needs to get right back in the ring by March. Try to have 3 or even 4 fights in 2024 before trying to fight for a title. Make sure he's healthy first of course.

Did anyone see any photos or slow motion angles of Lawson's face before it was stopped? I am interested if the ref saw some googly eyes or something we didn't.

Early stoppage but the barrios/romero stoppage was worse in my opinion. Either way weeks should be done. It’s funny because he is the same ref that let Diego corales and Castillo beat the **** out of each other .

Weeks claimed that he saw something in Lawson's eyes. Either way, it seemed premature.

Well one blunder from Jack Reiss was when he let Fury lay on the mat for 13 seconds in Wilder v Fury I haha

Reiss has screwed up in a bunch of fights. I haven't updated my Pound for Pound List lately, but I used to have him at #2 , behind, The Infamous ****ie Cole Jr. as the #1 P4P worst referee in boxing.

Definitely an early stoppage. Ortiz hurt the guy and the guy was fading but far from KO'd. Maybe Weeks saw something but it sure looked premature.

What we for sure didnt see was his head snap back, which is usually when the ref steps into a fight on the ropes.
