Comments Thread For: Teofimo Lopez Sr. On Devin Haney: "Once You Get Away From That Jab, He's F------ Dead"

All of the praise that Devin Haney is currently receiving is making Teofimo Lopez Sr. sick. Earlier this month, at the Chase Center in San Francisco, many were of the belief that Haney would leave the ring with his hand raised in victory, but not without some serious lumps.

Fight has a good chance of happening in mid 2024, especially when they talk about how they're going whup that ass, instead of the money. It's developing.

I think Lopez explosiveness and ability to close the gap so quick would give Devins all kinda problems and I could possibly see a mid to late round stoppage .

Can Teo take away Haney's jab? We'll have to see them in the ring to find out.

This is a damn good fight. People wrote Teo off and now that talk is all gone. He looked like a million bucks against Josh Taylor and Devin looked superb with Prograis. It's the next natural fight (and the true fight to determine 140 lb supremacy) but nobody could blame Devin if he made a pitstops and makes a career high payday against the extremely overrated Ryan Garcia.

Ryan is like the perfect risk/reward ratio for top tier dudes. They can make huge sums of money and have a greater than 50% chance of winning. That's sort of a rarity in boxing. Usually big names with tons of cash come with the risk too since USUALLY they get big by being very good at boxing. Not with Ryan. It's a new age. You can get big outside of boxing (Jake Paul anyone) and be a mediocre boxer and be a star. Twilight zone times for our sport.

But yes we may have to wait but Devin vs Teo is the fight at 140 and will remain so for the next two years ... I think I got Devin for a close UD.

Well at least until now; No opponent has ever been able to bum rush Devin Haney largely due to his jab.

He often controls both the fight’s pace and tempo with that jab. Even Loma couldn’t bum rush Haney.

Even after Devin stood right in front of him flat-footed for the entire fight.

Haney must punch a lot harder than most people think.
Which is why none of his opponents are willing to sell out or take risks against him.

                  They fear his counters.
