He's top 3 best fighters this year. The pick should be Inoue.

      Still say Haney.

Inoue got a win against - and almost went the distance with - a guy who was KNOCKED OUT 3 times before. Sorry, I can't.

And before people start: I've had Inoue #1 P4P for a good while now. There's no shame in the call. But Devin Haney is just a notch above for 2023. Let's see what guys do in 2024, because right now every division is shook up except cruiser.

Inoue is a great fighter but outside Fulton his body of wins compared to other Pound For Pounders are beyond average.
Tapales is a better fighter than Prograis.

David Benevidez is fighter of the year. Devin was gifted the Loma fight. Prograis is washed. Naoya Inoua is a close second to DB.

Inoue moved up in weight and not only defeated, but dominated and kayoed two unified belt holders back to back. No tune-ups.
Crawford is runner up. Spence win was huge, but Bud's only fight in 2023.
Haney third. Loma win was razor close, and Prograis is a limited guy.

Devin Haney is a good call for Fighter of the Year. He had two huge wins against Lomachenko in one weight class and Regis Prograis in another. (I personally rate Prograis higher than Tapales.) Inoue of course had a good year too, as did David Benavidez in beating Caleb Plant and taking Demetrius Andrade’s 0. Crawford had the single biggest win of the year but he only fought once.

For Upset of the Year I believe that the odds were much wider for Rafael Espinoza against Robeisy Ramirez than they were for Wilder-Parker.

Who had a good year that doesn't think they are FOTY?

That said if you are making a list of the top 4 or 5 guys this year & don't have Devin on that list idk who you'd have on it thats not Devin. Now idk about him being #1, but he's a top 4/top 5 guy this year. He beat a future HOFer in an undisputed 135lb fight & the #1 or #2 guy at 140lbs. Thats a good fooking year.
