I'm also a bit annoyed at Nery's promoter for talking as it is a confirmed deal that Nery gets first in line for mandatory months before the Tapales match even occurs. Did I miss the memo that WBC is guaranteed first dibs over WBA and IBF?

I believe Tapales was IBF mandatory for MJ, so that would be last. And I believe MJ just became WBA mandatory in his last fight. I'm not quite sure, but I think the order is

      WBC - Nery
      WBA - MJ
      WBO - Goodman
      IBF - not assigned

He'll be champ again after Inoue moves on, assuming Inoue beats Tapales. Thought MJ was really flat in the Tapales fight, and Tapales was very sharp and had the fight of his life.
Just like Rodriguez and Moloney ended up becoming the top two champs of 118 after Inoue vacated, I expect MJ and Goodman to be the top two champs of 122 in 2025 after Inoue vacates.

I had MJ losing to Danny Roman and he lost to Tapales too. I don't think Inoue has any issues with him, or Nery for that matter.

            IBF is Goodman.
            WBO has no mandatory.
But me thinks they will order Doheny vs Casimero.

Unfortunately compared to the other three mandatories, the winner of that last match isn't as enticing regardless.

My mistake. Confused IBF with WBO.

                Thanks.

Most recent mandatory fights appear to have been WBC Fulton v Roman in June 4, 2022, WBA MJ v Rios June 25 2022, and IBF MJ v Tapales April 2023. I think Inoue v Fulton July 2023 was a WBO mandatory.

So yeah, WBC should be up next, followed by WBA. Nery and then MJ. Will be curious to see who gets the call from WBO.

I'm getting mixed feeling about a fourth mandatory lining up, because I definitely expect the first two against Nery/MJ to occur next year, but not sure about the year afterwards. Goodman hopefully gets a chance assuming he doesn't falter but after that I think Inoue is better off going to feather instead of a fourth mandatory, which the haters will claim is a duck.

And god forbid if it ends up being a struggling Casimero who barely wins against Doheny but not worth fighting, either Inoue wastes his time or Casimero fanboys will eternally continue to live in the delusion Inoue ducked their god.

Not sure it will matter really. Because Casimero will eventually have to get past one of the guys Inoue beat, be it Fulton, MJ, Tapales, or maybe Goodman, who I'm not sold on yet. And I don't know that he beats those guys. I don't know that he'd even beat old man Donaire.

I'm not trying to overlook Tapales though. I think he's got the potential to be a more live dog than the odds makers credit him for, and will give Inoue a good fight as long as it lasts.
