^^What Benn initially said after the failed tests. Claimed he wouldn't avoid the board's process or fight abroad, then did exactly that, but wonders why people think he's a liar.

Not as far as I’m aware but again I’m not expert on the procedure.

My understanding is all evidence was provided in the hearing and they deemed him innocent.

All the appeal does it longer the process, it either gets accepted or rejected but like most appeals it likely get’s rejected but I guess we’ll see. I hear the appeal date is January.

I don’t understand the appeal to be honest. If you’ve had the hearing then why appeal? It’s done.

I don’t think it’s the BBBoC that does the clearing. That’s UKAD who represent them and they follow. So once they had the hearing with NAPD and UKAD and he was cleared and his suspension was lifted then from what I can tell he’s free to fight.

Only since they appealed it there’s a delay.

I’m no fan of Benn but at this point I’m not sure what else he’s supposed to do. He’s been cleared the WBC and he’s had a hearing with UKAD and been cleared.

The board are definitely being petulant at this point, it’s essentially delaying tactics, but I’ve got no sympathy for Benn either. He chose to go down the litigation route assuming they’d bend over backwards like they did for Fury, Whyte etc. His spoilt brat mentality has cost him big time. This could’ve all been sorted by now I reckon.

I can't see how he can really consider the process resolved. If it was resolved, why isn't he fighting in the UK next? 100% of his fanbase is here. Like you, I expect Benn will win the appeal. But until he does, he's not getting a UK license, and without one of those he hasn't resolved anything.

Last time around the major US states for boxing stood by the British board. Benn said "I don’t want to fight in another country because it looks like I am running away", and he was right, that is exactly what it looks like if he ends up somewhere like Florida again, vs an opponent we haven't heard of, in front of a small audience who don't care.

Yeah that's the ridiculous thing, he probably would've gotten a 6 month ban. It wasn't one of the most powerful steroids he popped for. Even with a 12 month ban starting the day of the failed test, he'd be back now. He still could've done a bunch of media interviews protesting his innocence and had most of his fans believe him.

They need to get him into a IBF eliminator match asap.

And instead of waiting for that process, he's running away to fight in another country, which is the exact thing he said he wouldn't do.
