He’s only not licensed right now because they’ve appealed the decision of the hearing.

He’s not suspended now. He should be clear to fight at that point and as soon as the BBBoC’s appeal is rejected then he will be.

    To my understanding.

How do you know that strict liability wasn’t the contents of the hearing that’s already happened?

I could be mistaken here as I’m no expert on the actual procedure but when fighters fail drug tests it’s UKAD (the testing company) that they go Infront of and decide their fate. Which is what Benn has done.

I’m lost on what else he’s supposed to do at this point?

I think their appeal possibly forces him into providing evidence to them or something like that and that’s what is causing the hold up as Benn won’t cooperate and BBBofC won’t change their stance.

I think people are past caring at this point tbh. Time for both sides to just move on.

Not as far as I’m aware but again I’m not expert on the procedure.

My understanding is all evidence was provided in the hearing and they deemed him innocent.

All the appeal does it longer the process, it either gets accepted or rejected but like most appeals it likely get’s rejected but I guess we’ll see. I hear the appeal date is January.

I don’t understand the appeal to be honest. If you’ve had the hearing then why appeal? It’s done.

Neither am I tbh, that’s just something I’ve heard second hand, no idea if that’s the real reason for the added delays.

Did the BBBofC ever clear him? I know the WBC did but I’m not sure the British Board ever did.

I don’t really care either way now, I can’t stand Benn and I can’t stand the Board/Robert Smith. Both are just wasting each others time out of pettiness and bitterness now I think.

“I won’t fight until this is resolved, with a foreign license or not. Whether people believe it or not is not down to me. I just want my innocence to be proven. I don’t care about the Board. I could fight in another county in February — but I don’t want to do that because it looks like I am running away. I hope this is well cleared up by then. It baffles me that people think I have cheated after seeing me on TV for so long, what I am like with my team, family and dad. Am I serial liar?"
^^What Benn initially said after the failed tests. Claimed he wouldn't avoid the board's process or fight abroad, then did exactly that, but wonders why people think he's a liar.

I don’t think it’s the BBBoC that does the clearing. That’s UKAD who represent them and they follow. So once they had the hearing with NAPD and UKAD and he was cleared and his suspension was lifted then from what I can tell he’s free to fight.

Only since they appealed it there’s a delay.

I’m no fan of Benn but at this point I’m not sure what else he’s supposed to do. He’s been cleared the WBC and he’s had a hearing with UKAD and been cleared.
