Dude is 26 years old with 32 fights. Bud is a decade older with only 8 more fights. There's barely anyone 30 or under with as many fights as him. There aren't THAT many ppl in the top 30 at 147 with as many fights as him whatever age they are.
Anyone sick of Jaron "Boots" Ennis not making himself active enough?

That's the problem with fighters these days and the boxing business model. They pay you so much once you score that "moment" fight, that so many fighters are scared to lose that moment. They rather pump the brakes and slow down on how often they fight as they feel they can jeopardize their future. Instead now, social media, talking online and talk your way into a mega fight. Win or lose, you score a huge paycheck and winning, you move on to the next huge paycheck.
Back with no social media, fighters HAD to fight to stay relevant and so people knew they existed. You couldn't afford to sit back and wait for that phone call, literally. Smaller paychecks and having to make a name for yourself.
Now, it's bigger paychecks by simply speaking loud.Comment

Ennis' team led by Bozy is an enigma. Bozy gets easily irritated when he's asked about a certain fighter mentioning his son's name. He would start denigrating such fighter like not deserving of the fight, unranked, not even top 12, not known in Philly, etc. As if Boots' record is full of young guns in their prime. You'd think he'd appreciate the mention of such fighter being added to his list of Boots' potential fights, but he won't. He'll dismiss anyone that doesn't jibe with his selection of fights for Boots.Comment

Apparently he was going to fight Cody Crowley in the undercard of Benavidez vs Andrade.
Until Crowley didn't like the deal and pulled out. I just wonder if Bozy is terrible at negotiations or if the PBC welterweight stable isn't willing to compete for the belts until they are available once Crawford and Spence leave to 154. (thus easy to get without any risks)
Butaev already left 147 to 154, only contenders available would be Barrios, Ellis and Stationis. Probably Santillan if he gets a big fat paycheck but I doubt it.Last edited by Malvado; 12-22-2023, 03:00 AM.Comment

I do think Haymon does business in a certain kind of way that isn't really great for guys wanting to fight the #1 guy & got the skills to give him big trouble, if not beat him, tomorrow. And its great for guys with name value who like to coast vs high level, but not the highest level opps. I don't love how Errol (early on pre-belt), David B (til the last yr or so), David M or Boots have been moved overall & they are clearly guys deserving of bigger fights then they have gotten or eventually got sooner than they've had them or as they still wait for them. So I lean more towards its being a Haymon thing more than a Bozy thing.Comment

He may be waiting around for nothing. Is Crawford a money fight? Don't know.
I'd wonder how much TC would want for that fight and who is willing to give what he wants.

when he should have pursued those types of fights earlier in his career? The intention is simply not there from the very beginning.

I think Boots won't get a legit big PPV fight til he moves to 154 or maybe even 160. He got bumped up a lil too late to be in play for the established PPV guys & guys are gonna be gone soon with the next era is still being built.Comment

I don't think there is at 147 anymore. Keef maybe could be big, but not Errol or Bud big obv. I think both of those guys are done at 147. Vergil is gone so that coulda been a fight that might be a big fight in another year or so but not now. Showtime Shawn is gone. Danny is gone. 147 isn't what it was. Maybe Devin moving up is a small big fight lol. Barrios with the Ugas W gots a lil more rub now. Theres nothing that gets me very hyped tho. Manny, well past his prime, might have to comeback to give Boots anything that feels like a 147 monster movie PPV fight title & that don't hype me up either.

He says they're only interested in title fights, highly ranked fighters, or mandatories, then move up to the next division.
