There are too many double standards. The IBF allowed Spence to duck Jaron "Boots" Ennis; His mandatory challenger since 2021 without stripping him.
However, when Crawford becomes the newly crowned champion at 147; Now they want to strip him. It's all corruption. Obviously, Bud didn't have the backing of the IBF as Errol Spence had because if he did they wouldn't have stripped him so quickly.Comment

In one sense; You do make a valid point. Bud did say and it's on record that he was never fighting Jaron "Boots" Ennis. So what was the IBF supposed to do in that situation?
If he was never fighting Ennis then he had no choice in relinquishing the title but here is the tricky part; Errol Spence, Jr was never going to fight Jaron "Boots" Ennis either.
The winner of the Crawford/Spence rematch was never going to fight him anyway. So again I asked what was the IBF supposed to do?Comment

The WBC used to be the most Prestigious belt undefor this k*ob this has become a joke. I'm glad the IBF have taken a stand. These so called boxing fans defending Crawford is what's wrong with boxing today, I've been following boxing since the 70s and these so called fans are a joke, you can see by the comments on here. Crawford has blatantly said he won't fight Ennis his mandatory so good strip him and move on Crawford. These rematches should be scrapped by these corrupt promoters and no world title should be sanctioned if this is in their contract. Every title fight has rematch clauses which is a joke. The IBF needs to strip the Fury v Ussyk winner if they rematch as consistency must be exercised.Comment

Unifications almost always trump mandatories. But when you're already unified (Crawford) they expect you to at least WANT to defend.
Crawford openly said he's not fighting the mando.
Spence never said he's not fighting mandos, he said "strap season, I wanna unify first" which is what he was doing.
If Crawford wanted to unify first, that's exactly why he should have fought Boots while waiting on Spence, because IBF doesn't care about rematch clauses. They want your signature on that contract, or they're taking the belt.Last edited by Combat Talk Radio; 12-16-2023, 12:46 PM.Comment
