Yeah for haney to move UP one weight class and still have 10 pounds on his opponent is absurd. It also shows how bad his punching power is, i mean he was 165 fight night and still couldnt take out prograis, like dude how feather fisted are you. He should be fighting at 154...... could you imagine his power there? he woudl be like paulie M at 154.

      I think he's a weight bully

He can fight without any problem at 147....

If fighters can do it with no ill effects its their natural advantage like being a hard puncher. Haney is young doe...so kinda like after a hard night of drinking cutting and blowing back up will have less of an effect naturally than it typically would an older fighter.
But there comes a point where we're past that. Prograis DID cut weight, he rehydrated 17lbs which is a lot in itself and still ended up at a 9lb disadvantage.

If we're talking about a situation where one guy rehydrates 4-5lbs and the other guy 12-15lbs, I would agree with you. One guy cut (water) weight, the other guy fought at his more natural weight and both have their pros and cons. This isn't that though, this is way beyond that.

I'll tell you this much for certain, there is absolutely no f**king way Haney rehydrated 25lbs without an IV.

He is still very young unlike many of you fat, old balding farts. Young people can go up and down in weight as their body permits it a lot more than older people. This is not unheard of.

Wild. I remember when Victor Ortiz rehydrated up into the 160's against Mayweather and that was raising people's eyebrows and Ortiz was a 147 guy, if Haney is rehydrating that much at 140, that's not good. I wonder if that's why Haney got a 36 hour weigh in instead of the standard 24 hour.

Is that illegal, I have no idea honestly?

It does seem farfetched that in the time he had he put on 25lbs of water and food.

It's illegal. It's illegal in Nevada, California and every other state. The problem with laws is enforcing them. You can have all the laws in the world you want, but if you're incapable of enforcing them, then they're pointless. Typically, you have a urine analysis before the fight after rehydrating to tell whether someone used a drip line. I have no idea if these are being used by the fighters before the fight, but what I was told by someone in the business, many fighters and boxers are doing this and getting away with it. The problem is lack of enforcement.

This reminds me of when Clottey fought Corrales I think and he allegedly weighed in at 170 the night of the fight. I also recall them saying he was fully clothed when he was weighed. I'm hoping that's the case with Devin because 25lbs is sick!

Its not organized like a sport, its more entertainment business than anything. Devin is being pushed as which he is one of the young stars of boxing on the break out so they'd make sure he could get away with things other fighters couldn't.

Now that FN 165lb weigh in? Was that fully clothed? makes a big difference if we don't know.
