The type of clown shxt that is the reason boxing isn't popular anymore.
Imagine Muhammad Ali, Julio Cesar Chavez, Oscar De La Hoya, Pernell Whitaker, Marvin Hagler, or anybody else doing this?
This nonsense started with Leonard and filtered it's way into the next generations through Mayweather and now Canelo.

I love how you imbeciles always use Leonard. He at least thru extra money at the opponent and even then it was just once (hagler) to take heat of froid being th3 main biggest divaThe type of clown shxt that is the reason boxing isn't popular anymore.

Yeah, really doesn't matter what he does. Haters are always going to hate. Floyd, Pacquiao, Crawford, Inoue, etc all have people trying to minimize their accomplishments. If Canelo fights and beats Benavidez, they'll make excuses about how he was too drained, or they'll say he was avoiding any of Bivol, Beterbiev, or even Charlo, Berlanga, etc. They talked and talked for years about how Canelo was avoiding Charlo. Then Charlo sat out for years crying on the sidelines, and couldn't even get it up to fight when he WAS offered the fight, and Canelo absolutely embarrassed the better Charlo who did step up to the plate. Now they're trying to talk up Benavidez and claim he's always been the best, when he's never once been ranked #1 in the division by anyone beyond NSB level.
I also want to see the fight, but the only people who will remember if it doesn't happen are the ones that were going to hate him no matter what.Comment

The fight would be at 168, which is Benavidez's weight class, so how could he be weight-drained for that?

Benavidez has held the WBC belt twice, so he didn't have to be ranked #1, he was the champion. And he's currently Canelo's mandatory challenger. I thought you wanted to see Alvarez vs Benavidez. Wouldn't you at least be a little disappointed if that never happens?Last edited by SUBZER0ED; 12-12-2023, 01:11 PM.Comment

He was A champion. Not THE champion. He's never been THE champion in his entire life. And if you value Sulaiman's belt, well, that says everything, doesn't it? Ditto if you place any stock in alphabet rankings.
Unless you're a complete idiot, you know that he's huge for the division, and he's not going to be able to make it forever. If you don't understand the concept of weight drain, I don't know what to tell you. This is basic stuff.Comment

He was THE WBC champion. Now, you're trying to say that belts don't matter. EVERY fighter has dreams of being a champion. Canelo himself has said that he wants to be the first Mexican to win championships in the most divisions. Do you think the greatest boxers in the sport never won any belts and didn't care about them?

Is Benavidez complaining that he's struggling to make weight and needs to move up, or is he calling out Canelo @ 168?Comment
