True but that was the perfect style match up for him. A guy who is a lot slower, flat-footed and likes to exchange and trade punches with you.

      This, 100%.

It's most evident when he throws his straight right hand because if you watch how he pivots his rear foot, he does the motion and it 'looks' right but he doesn't actually grip the canvas and get any purchase. He doesn't turn his weight over properly and sit on the shot. That's the reason why he lacks any real punching power, not the weight cut.

He makes up for it in sheer speed, kinda like Amir Khan, and it was his speed that did the damage last night.

You have got to want to punch hard before you can, Haney is sitting down a little more, that's all , any fighter that's on their feet as much as Haney is going to be not a hard puncher, but that doesn't mean he cannot punch harder, I knew he would punch harder at 140 with a guy that's smaller and flat footed, I thought it was obvious in this fight.

Another thing that's pretty obvious is that he's so much on the back foot with his style, that he's already exiting before his punch lands, so he doesn't get any weight transfer. Drives me nuts because he could get a lot more powerful pretty easily just with a few tweaks, and he'd likely already know that if he had a killer instinct, but his fight or flight tends a bit more to the flight side.

He’s definitely got some pop. Obviously not huge thudding power but more than I thought.

Yup , became very obvious after a few rounds that he had much more power and showed it by settling down on his feet
I for one didn’t think that power would carry over from what he’s shown previously
Gotta give him credit and the fact he came to fight ( no huggy )

I was of the opinion he had Best Value Money Mayweather type power so I didn't change my opinion. He's not gonna KO many guys, but its sharp & powerful ENOUGH to make a guy think twice about getting too loose in there with him. Look at the faces of the last few guys after the fight. Not many mfers had Loma looking like that regardless of how you had it scored.

It looks like the weight cut was affecting his legs and power. At one point he had 15 KOs in 22 fights. That's a good ratio there. Competition has gone up since then, but the weight cut has probably gotten more difficult also

You think so? I honestly didn't see anything different with Devin when he fought Kambosos for the second time. Yeah, he got a flash knockdown on Regis, but Regis wasn't hurt. But he did buzz Regis a couple times, hurt him a couple times, but didn't knock him out or stop him. He did the same thing to Kambosos the second time around. He hurt him a couple times but couldn't drop him or stop him.

Maybe he's a little stronger but it's so little as to be pretty much the same as before.

I think the 135 cut was definitely taking something out of him.

As others have said, doesn’t have one shot KO power, but has enough pop to get respect from his opponent.
